kanthal or nichrome ?

i want to try and rebuild some atomizers and maybe even try and build a genesis atomizer mod but im not sure what type of wire and what size gauge to order . i would like maybe a couple gauge sizes . can someone recommend what size gauges would be best and weather to use kanthal or nichrome.

You will get all sorts of recommendations for both. Each has its pros and cons.

Kanthal is supposed to last longer.
Nichrome is tried and tested.

Nichrome wire is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy.
Nichrome has been linked with rare cases of nickel allergy, but this may be speculation.

Kanthal is an iron-chromium-aluminum alloy.
If the nichrome/nickel allergy issue has any scientific basis (nickel leach-off at low part-per-billion, molecular levels), then Kanthal might deliver aluminum in the same way.

There are two types of nichrome, get the 80 if you go the nichrome route.
