Kanthal question

Googled it, rather use a life line.

Does kanthal go bad?
Got back into vaping, using 1.5 yr old wires that were sitting in the basement.
Always have a burnt taste after 10 min of vaping.
Using 26 n 28 ga. Single coil on kfl, .5 ohm at 24 watts.

Do I want to go get stainless steel wire?

Unused wire does not go bad. Might have been dirty though. And if you were getting a burnt taste, you most likely had a hot spot and/or a wicking problem.

Stainless is ALWAYS an option.

That seems like a pretty hot vape for a KFL, I suspect it is the juice your using. Sweet and/or darker liquids will quickly gunk up a coil and give a burn taste.

Goodejuice gj4 and some local juice.
Used ... cotton, organic cotton
Same thing...

24W in a KFL..

Try 12W

Went to stainless steel.
Wrapped a .68, at 20W on goodejuice wild turkey...
2 refills, so far so good...
Not sure how many wraps of SS I need to get to 1.8o to make 12w work.
Coil might not fit

The wrap calculator at Steam Engine may help. Depends on the stainless steel type and gauge used, and the ID of the coil.

Only time I don't use SS is if I can't fit in the coil. Also I pop my freshly wrapped coils in the ultrasonic for a cycle before installing. You can get an ultrasonic pretty cheap

5 wraps on kanthal was giving me .8ohm.
Tried 10 wraps of SS, got a .68. Fluctuates to a .73. Not sure why but nothing has exploded yet...
2 refills of goodejuice and still tastes good.
Gonna try a 7 wrap SS, see where it ends up.
Loving this goodejuice. 08/08/16 doesn't affect them either or so they said over the phone.
Def gonna have a new coil n wick for bull Durham. It's a shame that I ruined GJ4. Read alot of good reviews but not sure since it always tasted burnt

08/08/16 doesn't affect them either or so they said over the phone.

It affects every juice maker, every mod maker, every RDA and every tank sold in the US. Basically they cannot release any NEW product without submitting a PMTA as of the 8th, and for every product introduced after Feb 17th, 2007 (or so, I am too tired to look it up right now) they now have two years to submit their PMTAs.

If they think otherwise, they are either sticking their head in the sand or are just stupid.

Don't move to Quebec, they banned all online sales. I find all the people that thing Trump is the vaping savior hilarious but still very sad), especially considering who he chose as his running mate.

Funny how Quebec banned vaping. They are the most unhealthy ppl I know with their poutines and du mauriers and labatts.

Good, you don't need to worry about resistance at all. Just wrap a coil that fits.

Hear ya Boden.
Never got into mechanical. Always regulated.
Problem seems to be kfl and 0.5ohm. Tasted burnt right away.
Now running 1.03 at 15w. Not burnt but by God bull Durham is nasty.
Not my cup of tea. Goodejuice won't see me order this again
