Kanthal ribbon wire for micro-coils

Just curious to get some feed back on using ribbon wire vs round wire in DIY attys? I know the resistance is different so what is the favored size that one would use if doing a rebuild?

I've used 0.8x0.1mm in my RDAs, but went back to round Kanthal.

I've read that ribbon kanthal is a little harder to work with but since it gives you more surface area it should be more efficient. Any particular reason you went back to round?

There's no point in making micro coils out of ribbon. The stuff is flat, so it gets plenty of heating surface area.
