Kanthal wire

Hi guys,

I've been rebuilding a lot with my spool of 30awg wire but I hear a lot of hype regarding 28awg. Should I go out and purchase 28awg or stick with my 30?

I guess it depends on what you are trying to accomplish. If you're getting what you want from the 30, keep on going with it.

Well, you could do that...or you could twist up that 30GA with a drill and basically get something pretty close to 28GA. And you'll be in kanthal heaven, to boot! I have 28GA, though, for certain types of coils. Some of it does depend on what you're building (e.g. twisted kanthal isn't good for nano coils), but I really enjoy working with twisted and use it most of the time.
