This 3.5ml tank has been sitting in my drawer for weeks, waiting for me to work up the courage to take the plunge, and today was the day.
I dutifully watched Snowdragon's excellent video tutorial on filling tanks, I took detailed notes on what to do. I read other threads of his on the topic, then faced the scary little device.

I can tell you, dear friends, that my first attempt at tank filling was about as messy & accident ridden as my first attempt at filling my own cartomizers

Let's just say I also had to apply the information from the tutorial about 'topping up' immediately, and I am glad I was not using a favourite battery for the experiment. Also glad I had a stack of paper towel nearby.

I can see the attraction of tanks for chain-vapers of 1 or 2 flavours, like myself. Instead of having to fill heaps of cartos, clean them & refill, this is just one thing to fill, clean & refill. Once I get the hang of it, I am sure it will be less messy.

It's just so ugly though! So out of proportion for an elegant KR808D, this large protruberance with icky looking liquid glooping around. That, and I am not a fan of Manual batteries. It's something I might use on a quiet day at home, like today, when no-one else will see it. I'll also be hiding it away in my desk for when my DH & DD get home (DH is rather scathing of the whole vaping thing, he thinks it's absurd, so the tank would really annoy him).

I notice on the latest sale email, V4L are saying these tanks are compatible with "all Vapor Titan batteries" . Would you use one on the new Vapor Titan 'sealed' Auto batteries? Would that be totally crazy (assuming I got a lot slicker at filling them and didn't make such a mess of it) ?

LOL katz! Glad you finally gave them a go, and believe it or not, tanks start looking pretty cool after awhile on a batt. Kinda like the first time I saw go-go boots :D
And I use them on my autos all the time with no problems, BUT I first use a re-filled tank on a a manual just to be sure there isnt any leaking.
Easy peasy:vapor:

Use them all the time on them Ms. Katz. That's a bit of a misprint though, the 1.5ohm dual coils won't fire on any of the vt king diamonds I've tried. Will on the vt stealths though. :)

Rats! Oh well, at least I know. I do have enough manual diamonds for now. I think I might get another tank + some replacement cartos, then see whether this is something I will want to keep doing before I invest in more batteries. I plan to use my autos when out & about, no tank - for now (never say never, eh? :lol:) .
Tennovan, I definitely hope refilling gets easier. I just topped it up again, it was as messy as before. I have difficulty getting the carto flange to seat properly, then the top cap popped off, it leaked out the bottom some more before I got it all back together again. Ewwww.

After my initial ew reaction, I put it on a new battery and wow, it certainly does pack a punch.

Hmm that's strange because the flanges fit perfectly on all of mine. I also spent a good 5 mins trying to pop the caps off one the other day when I was cleaning it, they are really stuck in there. I get no leaks out of the bottom, either. It sounds like there's a faulty piece of hardware in there somewhere -- maybe with the caps/o-rings or the carto. Ideally, you should be able to pull the carto halfway out and have it maintain the bottom seal, keeping any remaining juice inside the tank (assuming of course that you've got less than half a tanks worth of juice remaining haha).

You may already do this, but I've found that refilling with a syringe makes things 10x easier/cleaner. Sometimes I'll just drip from the bottle if I'm topping off but any significant amount of juice is put through a syringe. In fact, it may be harder to drip-fill on a 3.5ml than with the larger ones -- I primarily use a 6ml so I can't say that with certainty.

Hmm, well it's like the flange has to sink into a certain position on the cap, else it isn't properly seated. We can safely put this down to (mis)user issues. I haven't had problems with dripping straight from the bottle actually.

You're wild, Katz.

Why thank you Jeffree , that's one of the nicest things anyone here has ever said to me.

Well, this morning I topped it off again. Not a drop of mess ! Seriously, none. Even with my first thing in the morning bleary eyes & shaking hands. Sometimes I surprise myself

Oh & yeah, I cracked: ordered a couple more tanks & manual batteries to use with them. Can it be that I'm hooked on tanks already?

You're really wild, Katz.

Thank you Jeffree

Can I tempt you to join my wild tank adventure if I tell you I am chain vaping with this thing without having to use 2 x batts & cartos alternatively? No scorching the cartos? No drop off in juiciness, except when the battery is running low? That I have used the one carto for 24 hours without needing to replace or clean, just top off? (normally I'd have gotten through 5 cartos in this time, and would need to clean them before re-using)

I have also worked out why I can make such a mess, cos I did it again last night. The problem for me is that the carto flange is not circular, and any slight twisting of the carto when pulling it down means it is no longer correctly aligned with its seat. Even with my strongest glasses on, I struggle to see the seating in the black cap, so I'm going to mark it to eliminate this issue. The other problem I have is that I tilt the lowered carto to one side to make it easier to squirt the juice down the side. Unless I ensure the carto is totally straight again, when I push it back up, it pushes the top cap off. All part of the learning curve, but at least I am learning.

Never say never - or at least say; "not right now".

Good stuff Katz..... To help with top cap issue, even with carto pulled out a little ways, set the carto on the table top. It will sit up nice flush on the flange. Then looking down through the top cap align the carto in the hole and slow push down on the top cap. This will push the carto up through the top cap hole while holding the top cap in place.
