It can happen so fast. Geordi's father was a robust, healthy, silly 7 yr old boy. I got a text at 6:20 am Monday morning - his breeder got home from work (night shift as an ER nurse) to find him dead in his crate. She took him to U of FL for necropsy. Hemangiosarcoma, he had a tumor on his heart that burst. A shock to us all.

Your family is close in my heart Mark.

Same happened with my 7 yr. old, Zoey. Had just been to the vet. Good check up, as she wasn't feeling right. Blood work good. Had a few good days, got to see most everyone she loved (by chance), went downhill a few days later, was almost gone by the time we got her to the vet ER. Hemangiosarcoma on her spleen burst. That baby WALKED into the vet's. Died a few minutes later. They are our family. I lost my one in the Avi to brain tumor (they think) as she had multiple gran mal seizures they couldn't stop. She was the love of my life. Gone 2 years on Dec. 27th and I still miss her and weep for her.

Speaking of allergy/sinus/colds. I've been fighting it for 3 weeks now. Started with alle4gies h gradially m9rphed into a head cold. 3 years ago, pre-vape days, it would uave be3n in my chest h becoming bronchitis within 24 hours. Now, it is just now trying to go into my chest. I had a PCP appt today for follow up on bp med & she was very impressed that it hasn't gone into my chest before now, but considering my suppressed immune system she's not surprised I haven't been able to shake it. So an Rx for Cipro, & a cough syrup to take along with the Mucinex. Glad a say bye to the Nyquil.

Truth, I tell you. Same here. Normally, I'd be hacking and wheezing and needing breathing treatments by now. But this time around, it's "all in my head" :D

Blecch day. Fortunately I did work from home today because of heavy snow, so was accessible

Our 8-1/2 yo lab, Jasmine, had seemed listless, not hungry, Sunday, then was okay Monday and Tuesday until dinnertime; back to low energy and no hunger.

My wife said Jasmine was looking worse just after noon, so we schlepped through the snow to a local emergency clinic, that turned out to only be open nights and weekends.

Our vet was able to schedule us due to cancellations. X-rays showed massive lung cancer. DW wanted to bring her back home for a few more days. I carried her back in, put her on one of the big dog pillows. Jasmine died, peacefully, within 90 minutes of getting back home.

My heart breaks for you and DW, sweetheart. Sending love and hugz to you and DW and skritches to the furbabies.....

(((((((mark))))))) so sorry to hear this, but am glad she was home with all of you, and that she died on her own, rather than y'all having to make a very tough decision. Hugs to Sidney too! (I think that's her companions name)

    (((hugs))) to you all.

My Reggie died about ten years ago. I still miss him. This is my favorite photo of him. He is laying on my stomach in bed and purring.

Deb thanks for asking. It's not doing bad. It's just hard to use my right hand for things I normally do with my left.

Oh yes! I am extremely right handed and learning to do things with my left is HARD! I have to think before I do. But getting better.

At least I'm amphidextrous but do many things better with my left hand.

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow. :)

I cut the palm of my left hand with my brand new bread knife. 3" deep laceration and 6 stitches. :(

I read this, but totally missed the part about it having just happened. I'm so sorry darlin. I thought it was a long time ago for some reason. I keep saying one of these days I'll learn to read. Ever since I jiggled my brain in 99 I have issues where some words get mixed up, and some just don't register, whether I'm reading or writing, so I missed the Monday morning part.

Yeah I've been so busy lately just haven't gotten around to checking in here...But I'm good...have the little Princess this week, for a whole 10 days, and boy am I worn out from chasing around a 3 year old! How have you been?
Wow, I'm sure it's wonderful to spend time with her, but yeah, that would totally wear me out even if I weren't in pain all the time. I'm doin fine. SSDD

Bea, that pic is so sweet. Ozzy jumps up and lays on my chest all the time, but grab a camera, and they both disappear. he'll also do what I call his wiggly squiggly worm..........he'll start on the bed at my hip, then kinda GI Joe crawl up til he's laying on my chest. too cute.
