Sorry to hear this Lynn, that sucks BIG time. You might want to actually post in the contest thread. Seems like CRX has a lot of experience with that kind of stuff, and doesn't seem to mind the troubleshooting and such. He does seem to know what he is talking about as well.

I just got a call from my CC company. Introduced herself as X calling from Y, on behalf of Bank Z. Wut? Wanted to "verify some recent activity" I was, "Why isn't my BANK calling me?" and she said they were a 3rd party contractor. Didn't mean to be rude, but I'm supposed to share CC info with some 3rd party to reduce fraud?!? Whiskey Tango?

Well, I just left the Ford dealership 2 hours ago, after paying a $2K bill to have my big F450 serviced YET again. I told her "if this is regarding a large charge today at a Ford dealership, THAT hardly constitutes unusual activity, and yes it was mine". OK, thanks she says, asks the obligatory "Were you satisfied, can I help you with.. " PUHlease. Thank You. Nice Weekend. Gbye.

Prolly legit. She had the last 4 digits, big deal. I think it was pretty clear I wasn't going to be giving any information away in any case. MAYBE it WAS unusual activity, probably been a whopping 3 months since I had a huge repair bill at a Ford Dealership. Very unusual... :grr:

Looks like I may not be a wiener on the luggy, but the encom voidray 60w will likely show early next week. TC supports SS, upgradeable firmware. Looking forward to taking it for a test drive before finding a forever home for it :)

( mini+ remains my favorite )

The police dept here has been posting a lot on Facebook about a scam that's going around here. Someone calls saying they work with the IRS and that there's a problem with your taxes and you owe XX amount of dollars. They go on to say that they can clear the matter right up that day then goes on asking for bank info etc. I'm thankful that I only have a cell and they can't get the number and two, I don't owe the IRS.

And 3.....the IRS sends snail mail--they don't call :D It says it right on their website! I've actually received this call on the home phone. They try to make it sound like they will send the police or press charges if you don't give the info. Hubby flipped out until I told him it was a scam and showed him on the IRS website where it has a blurb posted about this scam and that they always send a letter. So he let me handle it the next time they called....they haven't called back :D

Top of the morning, good people. Apologies for my outburst in that other thread. I don't mind the people whining that THEY haven't won, and others seem to win all the time. That just is what it is, and is at least honest and clear to everyone.

But when someone who hasn't done jack squat for the community, whines because THEY haven't won, and drags everyone else in, pretending that THEY looking out for the community?!? Yeah, that trips a few of my circuits.

I feel better nao.. ;)

I agree! I haven't won in the last couple of contests and I don't whine about it...I'm happy to see friends win! And it is completely random and luck of the draw that some "appear" to win all the time, which isn't always true if you go back and look :D

LMAO. My wife got that call. I overheard her in her office. She was taken aback at the threats being made (Revocation of Drivers license, prison, yada yada), and was totally telling the person on the other end what she thought of their choice of livelihood. I THOUGHT she WAS talking to the IRS, and I was ...... ice cubes! She came running into my office with the phone, as I was googling Snopes. Knew it was a scam before I even got the phone. Oh boy, was that a lil fun..

I found a weak spot with Indian telemarketer Chai Walla's (Thanks Slum Dog). Telling the dood on the other end of all the wonderful conquests I've been having with all the beautiful, talented Indian professional females that have fled their dumbass chauvinist society and are loving their new freedoms here in Murica. I was all KINDSA mother father...

They went so far as to say they were Detective so and so with badge number blah blah on the phone with me....They were rather taken aback when I told them I worked with a Police Department and would run the badge number and call them back after verifying authenticity....Asked for a call back number and he hung up lol!
