I dont grind my own. I wish I did have a grinder, because I would have lots of fun grinding with it! Lol
Looks like upper end of fine is about right, which I believe is what I used for Lynn. PM your addy and I'll send some out to try :)

I am beginning to view that as the downside of living in a free and open society. But now, it only distracts me when I let it. And sometimes, I even have to let out my inner boor..
I suspect it's just because the few general threads I've poked at were running at the more whiny end of the spectrum :)

Sounds good :) To me this is a variant of DIY, I do it for fun. I tend to buy multiple pounds of beans when I see something interesting, and most have come out quite nice.

Time to brew my daily carafe of French Press -- I'm trying the Colombia Narino Fiesta Natural beans today.

(LLB -- your suggestion on microwaving the carafe of water and then adding the ground coffee has made this vastly easier than what I had read about french press, where people slowly pour hot water into the carafe. Thanks again for the hint.)

:) sounds pretty fun :) I love the taste of coffee, hazelnuts, vanillas, dark roasts, mediums, and just about anything that has that nice full taste. I like alot of different kinds too so I am not picky :) Enjoy your cup! I am about to have my first cup :) I am debating on cold or hot :) My lil baby duck I have been caring for (it thinks im its Momma :) ) has been delaying my coffee time lately ;) How am I supposed to make this lil baby wait?

Aww, what a cute duck :)

Our neighbors at camp usually have both ducks and chickens for the summer. The ducks win for cuteness, but the chickens have huge entertainment factor, wandering about :D
Ducks are adorable :) Chickens can be hilarious! Sometimes I will laugh so hard I can barely breath watching mine run....hahaha it makes me laugh just thinking about them running after bugs or something that catches their attention! I have a drake that herds with the chickens and watches over them, and he loves this one lil hen called Buttercup (yes I name them all..lol) He will protect her, and will not let any of the other hens bully her. He even keeps watch while she lays eggs. Its pretty cute.

Whew! Finally caught up, and please just consider everything as "Liked"!

Alrighty, as promised, I wanna give y'all an update on the Dr. appointments and what-not...
CT and MRI scans were done Thursday, then Friday we saw the oncologist. Basically, the tumors have continued to grow in spite of the chemo treatments. Not only have the existing tumors grown, but there are also signs of new tumors... quite a few, but they are still so small as to be almost imperceptible. The decision was made to take her off of the IV chemo as it wasn't doing much good (perhaps slowing the growth, but not much else). There were two options for continued chemo treatment: one drug that could possibly cause liver damage (which she already has), and a very new oral-dose drug that was just released last summer. She'll be taking the new one. The studies have shown that it is very promising and has given Stage IV patients as much as an additional year of time. It was made clear to us that this is not a cure, but is a measure to extend our time. How much time is unknown (so, nothing new there). Basically, I guess not much has changed except that we aren't going to be doing the IV chemo any more and we're pretty happy about that. The oral-dose chemo will be less hassle (no more 1+ hour drives for treatment).

Other than that, we're both working very hard at not dwelling on it and just trying to enjoy our lives as they are. So, prayers and hugs are appreciated, but no more sadz... be happy, love the ones you are with while you have them, dance in the rain, play in the snow (just don't eat it if it's yellow!), and bask in the sunlight... Today is the present and that is all that matters. It is a gift and each day should be cherished. Now go love somebody! :)

Lol.. yvws! Easier is incidental. It's the quick stir with the chop stick to lower the temp that crucial 12F that I like. Woohoo! Boils twice! :) Science! :)
