Whew! Finally caught up, and please just consider everything as "Liked"!

Alrighty, as promised, I wanna give y'all an update on the Dr. appointments and what-not...
CT and MRI scans were done Thursday, then Friday we saw the oncologist. Basically, the tumors have continued to grow in spite of the chemo treatments. Not only have the existing tumors grown, but there are also signs of new tumors... quite a few, but they are still so small as to be almost imperceptible. The decision was made to take her off of the IV chemo as it wasn't doing much good (perhaps slowing the growth, but not much else). There were two options for continued chemo treatment: one drug that could possibly cause liver damage (which she already has), and a very new oral-dose drug that was just released last summer. She'll be taking the new one. The studies have shown that it is very promising and has given Stage IV patients as much as an additional year of time. It was made clear to us that this is not a cure, but is a measure to extend our time. How much time is unknown (so, nothing new there). Basically, I guess not much has changed except that we aren't going to be doing the IV chemo any more and we're pretty happy about that. The oral-dose chemo will be less hassle (no more 1+ hour drives for treatment).

Other than that, we're both working very hard at not dwelling on it and just trying to enjoy our lives as they are. So, prayers and hugs are appreciated, but no more sadz... be happy, love the ones you are with while you have them, dance in the rain, play in the snow (just don't eat it if it's yellow!), and bask in the sunlight... Today is the present and that is all that matters. It is a gift and each day should be cherished. Now go love somebody! :)

I won't lie, I was praying for better news, Brother. Atlas is skeered of you and ya Mrs., SO strong. Switching my prayers from better fortune. Now I gotta pray for miracles, but He has been known to provide both, when it's in His plans.

Ah.... Permission to love a BUNCHA somebody's? :)

C'est la vie, my Brother. If you want to make Him laugh, make a plan. It is His plan that matters. :) We are praying for miracles as well, and have found a local church that does personalized healing prayers that she is wanting to go to every other week. And if she wants to go, I'll make sure she gets there... you know me, I'd paddle her over to Isreal in a pirogue if I had to! ;)

And permission granted, Brother... Love 'em ALL! :D

Serious battery question. I know someone in this thread has stated their preference for LG's in regulated but Sony VTC4 or 5 in Mechs. Don't remember who it was though. Since I'm going to need to get a couple batteries soon, and am looking into baterries for mech use, figured I'd ask why?
I'm assuming due to amps, so let me clarify my question. Assuming I plan on aiming for .5ohm builds and up, further assuming I really blow my build and end up as low as .3 instead of .5 (seems to me I should never miss by that much, but...) by my calculations I'd still be way under 20 amps. In such a case, any reason to still prefer the Sony's over say the higher capacity of an HG2?

I use HG2, Sammy R25.... I just don't build super-low on a mech. Usually around 0.7 at the lowest. No fear there.

Kazzie, I'm 'bout ready to tap the Markie Mark! That he'p?

I run VTC4s in all of my mechs. Hard to argue wif a 30A limit... I've run some of mine a little under 0.15Ω, so you'd be perfectly fine at 0.3-0.5

I concurred to someone else's opinion regarding the VTC's.
First off, I should point out that VTC5's are only rated for 20a cdr, NOT 30 like the VTC4. Get the LG HG2's instead, if you want a 20a batt.
Also, VTC's were never really intended to be used individually, or for vaping! They were made for building battery packs like those found in laptops.

The VTC4's for mechs make sense. They are rated 30a cdr, and have a pulse rating of 60a. Not that you would EVER intentionally want to run them close to 30, or pulse them close to 60. They just provide that lil extra headroom, should something be wrong with a build that is NOT a direct short. I'll take the insurance, for the mAh loss, in a mech. :)

Theoretically, 30a continuous is a safe number. Theoretically, I can tell the Mrs. I am sick of always being the one to take out the garbage. The battery is probably a safer theory.

LMFAO!!! Yeah, I'd definitely bet on the battery... I actually pushed 50A on a VTC4, just to see if I could.... yeah, yeah... sometimes I'm not the sharpest tool in da shed, but curiosity got the better of me...

Well, when you put it that way I'm inclined to agree with you. Even though I won't be running anywhere close to the danger zone for a 20a batt, better safe than sorry so the extra 10a on the VTC4 is probably the way to go. Especially since this is not going to be my all day out and about gear, so I'm not really going to miss the mAh anyway. Figure the best time to get my feet wet with a mech is before the gubbiment forces me to. And while there are still B&M's in Indiana that I can walk into with it if I feel the need. Those may be in short supply after July 1, depending on pending lawsuits/injunction requests.
