Well said, Ducky.

And I'm sitting here thinking about how much I SUCK. I'm mad and frustrated. SO sitting in hospital on HER birthday. She was very frustrated (plus pain was wreaking a bit of havoc). MRI scheduled for tomorrow morning. DID get to see neurologist (who can see there is issue, hence the loud, noisy tube from head to hips....)

Was getting ready to leave this evening. I'm feeling bad that she's had a crappy day. She says, "It's been an o.k. day. I got to spend the day with the woman I love. I've been in contact with a lot of people whom I haven't been in contact for a while. Yeah, it was a pretty good day."

Amazing.

That does not make you suck :) It is hard to not be frustrated during hard times like that :) Being the person watching the ones we love sick is such a hard pill to swallow, because there is nothing more then anything we would rather do than take the pain away and help the one we love. Hugs for you dear! Your SO and you are in my thoughts and prayers :)

    Morning Family! @DingerCPA , you most definitely don't suck. It is hard seeing loved ones suffering and not being able to do anything to fix it. But you are there for her, which is all that matters. {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}

    In case anyone is interested, new HG contest for a UD Simba ceramic coil tank. You can find it here.

    Hugs :) I was hoping you would get better news, but the new treatment does sound promising for time :) I hope that you guys enjoy every moment together. I will make a prayer for a miracle, because miracles do happen :) Hugs :) One of my favorite quotes since I was a kid, I even used it as my senior quote when I graduated high school: "The way to love anything Is to realize that it may be lost" I try to love by that, because it makes me appreciate the ones I love, and to be a kinder person to those special people :) I have always thought it was a beautiful quote :) I am praying for you guys :)

    Beautifully said, Darlin'. We were hoping for better news, ourselves, but the news we got was pretty much the news we expected. At this point, we are praying for a miracle as well. :) Thank you so much for the prayers, the beautiful quote, and all da hugs! {{{{{{{{{{Ducky Lady}}}}}}}}}}

    None of that indicates that you suck, Dearest. It merely indicates that you care. Trust me when I tell you that it it much harder for us (the caregivers) to see the finer points of those days. Typically our focus is on making sure that our SO receives the best care possible as quickly as possible. We want them to feel better, and we want it now!

    Your SO sounds like an amazing woman, and being that she is with you, that comes as no surprise to me. So breathe, Sistah... today's gonna be a good day. :)

    Good morning one and all!

    A lovely 9F this morning when I took the puppies out. It gets the blood circulating :)

    I'm drinking the Colombia Narino Fiesta Natural now. It's more of a classic rich Colombian, compared to the Fiesta Honey version; both very nice, depends on what you're looking to drink at any given time :)

    Lady D - you so completely DO NOT suck for being an exceptional human being (you have to allow yourself to feel your feelings, sister - hurting because someone you love is hurting does NOT constitute a shortcoming)... BREATHE - and celebrate the light - the shadows will always exist and sometimes they creep in on us - let the LIGHT push them back and remember that YOU matter and that SHE matters and that you are on the path TOGETHER (and I am betting she would not have it ANY other way) - you are a blessing to her (and to us) - allow yourself to be a blessing to yourself - it matters.

    Da roasting cycle has gotten pretty simple for me. I run medium heat, 3/4 fan, 3 full scoops ( fills a 9oz jar when done). 5 minute cycle at those settings seems to bring everything in at City Plus or Full City.

    Whew! Finally caught up, and please just consider everything as "Liked"! :lol:

    Alrighty, as promised, I wanna give y'all an update on the Dr. appointments and what-not...
    CT and MRI scans were done Thursday, then Friday we saw the oncologist. Basically, the tumors have continued to grow in spite of the chemo treatments. Not only have the existing tumors grown, but there are also signs of new tumors... quite a few, but they are still so small as to be almost imperceptible. The decision was made to take her off of the IV chemo as it wasn't doing much good (perhaps slowing the growth, but not much else). There were two options for continued chemo treatment: one drug that could possibly cause liver damage (which she already has), and a very new oral-dose drug that was just released last summer. She'll be taking the new one. The studies have shown that it is very promising and has given Stage IV patients as much as an additional year of time. It was made clear to us that this is not a cure, but is a measure to extend our time. How much time is unknown (so, nothing new there). Basically, I guess not much has changed except that we aren't going to be doing the IV chemo any more and we're pretty happy about that. The oral-dose chemo will be less hassle (no more 1+ hour drives for treatment).

    Other than that, we're both working very hard at not dwelling on it and just trying to enjoy our lives as they are. So, prayers and hugs are appreciated, but no more sadz... be happy, love the ones you are with while you have them, dance in the rain, play in the snow (just don't eat it if it's yellow!), and bask in the sunlight... Today is the present and that is all that matters. It is a gift and each day should be cherished. Now go love somebody! :) :wub:

    Mucho Man hugs your direction man!!!!!!!!!!
