There is always something you "need" as long as you define "need" properly. So allow me to assist. In cases like this the correct definition of "need" is "I really like that" or also "I will have a use for that sometime down the road"I'm trying to decide if there's anything I "need"

I live to enable...BRAT!
I could use coils for my Melo III and maybe even the Simba, if I can find the right things.....
I really need some support right now. My Grandfather passed. Sever mixed emotions now.
Always made me promise not to tell Mom! I'm trying to decide if there's anything I "need"

Brother... there just are no words. I really wanted to post something that might lift your spirits and give you some measure of peace, but I'm just blank right now. When you said that your Grandfather taught you to play cards, that reminded me of my two grandfathers. One taught me how to hunt, the other taught me how to fish. Those are two activities that I enjoy immensely, and going hunting or fishing now makes me feel close to them again. I can still remember sitting in the deer stand with my grandpa... he would bring an extra thermos with hot chocolate along with his own coffee thermos. My other grandpa would always let me have a beer when we'd go out on the river to fish.Always made me promise not to tell Mom!
I guess the point of my rambling is to say, remember those good times. Sit down and play a card game with some family and friends. Talk about the things that he taught you. Remember him with love and laughter. Know that he is always with you, because he helped to shape you into the wonderful man that you are today. You are a living part of his legacy. You are proof that he was a good man.
Love ya, Brother... Hugs
Thank you. What a day today. Busy as all get out and there are too many things to do at work. Also my mind and heart are just not in it today. However I am talking with friends/acquaintances and they are my support group right now as well as you all are. I cannot express my gratitude for everyone here. I also cannot express my feelings at the moment. I will get by and time will heal all wounds.
@LynnNC "Breathe" was beautiful. Made me tear up a bit, thanks. I am going to steal your corner for a bit for a shoulder to lean on.
@Kaezziel you expressed the words just right brother and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
@Kodak, thank you for the explanation. I thought that was it, but wanted confirmation. Artemis is also an assassin in the "Icewind Dale trilogy" by R.A. Salvatore. Wonderful reading.
Skully, you can use my corner anytime and for as long as you need it.![]()
Skully, since you mentioned not seeing playing cards the same way, I keep looking at my grandfather's pocket watch, I have hanging on the wall. Thinking of the time when I stayed with him, and my grandmother. "Helping" him with the chickens (he raised hundreds at a time). Fishing in his private pond with him. Going to the "domino hall" with him, and watching him play. Remembering his sense of humor. He would often answer the phone with "Hartts Mule Barn! Head .....$$ speaking".
My point is, you can let those cards make you sad, or they can remind you of good things, fun things. It really is your choice.
Hope this doesn't come off as preachy, or anything like that. I certainly don't mean it that way. [[man-hugs]]![]()
So I go for the man hug for @Kaezziel :
Whoops, try again:![]()
Okay little too hard, try again:![]()
