Unexpected emergency pup sitting for my sister. Brutus & Bella are happy to see me! BIL's brother passed away unexpectedly on Monday night. They believe it was a heart attack. He was in the shower at the time, & his wife found him. BIL flew out to NM yesterday & sister leaves in the morning. I'm asking for prayers & good wishes for his wife & 2 boys. She is going to be making some hard decisions right away. The boys have Fragile X Syndrome & are in their 20's. There are intellectual & related behavioral disabilities involved. The mother is unable to handle one of her sons so he will probably be moved from home. The other is fine with her. She'll be dealing with this on top of the sudden loss of her husband & needs all the prayers & good wishes we can offer. They are a sweet precious family & will feel lost without Andy. I don't know how the boys will handle this.

The squirrels were eating all our veggies. There are TONS of them because we live in a heavily wooded area. We built a "cage" for the garden. 2x2 frame and chicken wire all around and roof.

I might have to reconsider my options. .

The chicken wire is not terribly expensive and since it's lightweight we figured 2x2s would be sturdy enough and cheaper than 2x4s. This is its 3rd summer and it works great.

The only thing you might need to do different is a sturdier roof if you get snow where you live.

Would you please come over, and explain this to my wife?

I know how hard it can be for a mom. We give them birth. They are part of our bodies. Tough love is…well tough to do.

I understand that. It's why I don't push it. But this girl needs to grow up, and realize she's not 16 anymore. Mom isn't always going to be around... then what will she do?

The 35 year old staying here, is on her 5th Last Chance...

I moved back home once when my 1st husband and I separated. My mom and dad had given my room to my sister that I shared a room with until I moved out. They had long sense converted the other bedroom into a den which was open to the kitchen. So when I moved back in I had to sleep on the couch in the den. My dad was up all times of the night and he would sit at the kitchen table WITH the light on shining in my face. Plus they were all up at 5. I only wish I could do my daughter that way. Instead, I'm given her and Noah my bedroom while I sleep on that couch I just bought.

All this talk of kids moving back in makes me realize how lucky I am with my kids. I don't think I'll ever have that problem.
Though in a few years I might move in with one of them.

SO's leg has gotten infected, and she's been in the hospital since Tuesday. Not sure if she's coming home today or tomorrow. I believe they have (or will) put in a port because one of the best people from the IV team took three tries to set an IV (with an INFANT NEEDLE). She's tired and frustrated and angry and hurting and depressed and..... We all know that something like this will likely happen again I guess this is a "preventative" measure to allow easier access for meds if/when it does happen.....

I'm simply exhaustipated.

I am fortunate too. I only have 1 child who joined the Florida National Guard at the end of high school. He has been independent ever since. He is now full time (has been for years) and Sgt First Class, with a Master's Degree in Cyber security. I couldn't be prouder! I figure I will probably be living with him when I get to that stage, but I also know he will take me in. He and his wife ultimately want a "compound" or whatever you would call it so all us old folks have our own space on the same property. Future, far off future.
