@tejas, thanks for thinking of me!
The wound is healed, but it's going to still be awhile before it is functional. Very sensitive to touch, cold is a killer!!! I can move the joint (limited, but it works!). I am missing about 1/2 - 3/4 of an inch off the tip of my thumb, but the whole nail bed is intact. Once the nail grows out, BRACE YOUSELF! - it won't stick out like a sore thumb!!!!
I have exercises to do to eventually ease the sensitivity (tapping on different surfaces, rubbing on different surfaces, pressure, massage), and it's not as sensitive as it was. Going to take time, some say 6 months to a year. The hardest part has/is learning to use my left hand!! I can write with my right hand, thankfully, but most things I have to do with my left. It's HARD!!!!! I have to think about what I want to do and how to do it! Oh well, developing the right side of my brain can't be all bad..... My problem is on the left side of my brain there is nothing right, on the right side there is nothing left!!! [emoji38][emoji38][emoji38]
OK, I will stop now...
