Hello,

I've been smoking for many years and now trying to quit. This is my second attempt at vaping. The first one, back in 2013/14 has failed, because I couldn't find a setup/tobacco juice that worked for me.

Now the situation seems different. Lots of great juices and setups to choose from, but also a lot of new things that I'm not sure I understand.

I've got Endura T18 to have something while I figure out my main setup. It has so many great reviews, but vaping Black Note's tobacco juice on it, which is 50/50 PG/VG, has not been all that great. The vape gets uncomfortably hot, the coil doesn't last even for one tank of juice and sometimes it floods with a tank more than half full.

I'm a MTL vaper. I currently have a Kabuki tank and my old ProVari 2.5. With tobacco juices, it seems that it would be better to wrap my own coils, but if I go with Kayfun 5 (any other suggestions?), what kind of wire should I get? In addition, what would be a good box mod to get for Kabuki/Kayfun 5 tanks?

The box mod thing is the most confusing to me. There're so many options, different wires, volts, amps, watts, temperature control, etc, etc. It seems like a box with the temperature control feature is the way to go, but all I've used in the past is ProVari 2.5 that can only change volts.

I'm sorry for so many basic questions. I would appreciate if somebody could help me sort this out.

I think a k5 would be a major upgrade to any of those tanks that require drop in coils. Your juice is a net and doesn't do as good with smaller type coils, so making your own coils will be better and cheaper. K5 is no doubt a good choice and personally would get some kanthal and SS wire for rebuilding and imo 26g would be best. With the kanthal you would just do regular wattage mode vaping and if you want to try out temperature control, the SS is for that. would do coils in the 2.5mm ID range or perhaps 2.7mm. I would also make these coils between .7 to 1 ohm in resistance. At first i would try straight wsttage mode with the kanthal and after you get use to things, try the temp control and the SS wire . As far as a mod, the pico is a fairly cheap but good mod to start out with but personally prefer the dna chips which alot of mods come with, in those a couple that have good reviews are the hcigar VT 75 nano or the thereon 75 watt but there are many others and I'm sure others will chime in on some. These dna mods tend do better for temp control, but are just all around great chips. I like mods that have a single replaceable 18650 for that set up. Also rayon as a wicking material does great with net juices and tobaccos in general.
