Kayfun 5 SS max ohms? 1.5 possible?

Hi guys,

I got myself a k5 and did a couple ss builds. 26g 316l 6 wraps 3.0 and i can't take it it makes me cough. So i read some comments and i think it has to do with the ohms. anyone using ss with high ohms near 1.5. If so can you please post your build?

What was the resistance of the first build?
What wires do you have to work with?
What are you powering the K5 with?
How many watts did you give it?

I got 316l in 24 26 28 32
Powered with itaste mvp 4
Used lowest temp setting 300f /150c
Indigo Eastwood 12mg think they use 50/50 for the normal non max vg version

Gotta make some assumptions here, since I'm unfamiliar with your mod. I assume you selected SS316 as the wire type on the mod and fired your coil to check for hotspots after you installed it, right? On a dna chip, I had NI selected with a SS coil installed and it slammed the coil with full wattage ruining it. Another time, I had the pre-heat watts set improperly, so it hit the coil hard for a second and gave me a ghastly hit.

A 3mm 11/12 wrap of 28awg 316 should give you right about 1.5Ω. (my test produced a 6mm wide, spaced coil.)
The MVP4 can be set to watts or TC.
In watts, I would start at about 8w-10w.
In TC mode, I would confirm I was in TC-SS316 mode, lock my resistance (if needed), set my temp between 420°f-450°f and watts, again, beginning at 8w-10w.

It was definitely set to ss316 i mean its idiot proof. It asks you when you put in a new coil and then always shows the resistance on screen.


Will definitely try the 11 / 12 of 28awg hope it fits the K5 though.

I was reading somone was using 3 * 32g with about 7 wraps For near 1.5. May help with the limited K5 build space. Do they just twist these wires together? Guess i would then need to buy a damn drill lol
