One thing worth looking at which couild be responsible for poor juice flow & dry hits russian and kayfun clones is the center pin to base insulator grommet assembly. I found a major fault on my russian clone when I received it upon taking it apart to get it cleaned of machining oil etc and ready for first use. Mine had serious issues which would have caused it to function very poorly.

After thoroughly cleaning out all the pieces, paying close attention to making sure the insides of the air passages and airflow adjusting hole (grub screw removed) were thoroughly cleaned, using a pipe cleaner with dawn dish soap and hot water. Also make sure you clean the air passage through the center pin. If you havent cleaned your new kayfuns, doing this will help make any strange flavors go away heh heh

Anyway,
Upon assembly I noticed the center pin was protruding about a millimeter too far out of the 510 connector.
Time for some adjustments to get this problem dialed in so I pulled it apart again for further inspection and to file down that insulator flange slightly in order to get that pin recessed a little bit further into the 510 base portion...

This is where I noticed the major flaw EVERYONE with a kayfun or russian should take a good look at.

Holding just the center pin and the bottom insulator, I slid the insulator onto the center pin and low and behold the insulator grommet was partially covering the air inlet holes on the sides of the pin.

So in my case I first filed off the flange end a little bit and also filed some off the bottom end of the pin until I was satisfied with how the pin was sitting in the 510 base...but eyeballing that insulator on the pin it was still covering about a third of the pins side holes (the air inlets) so I had to file off the top end of the insulator grommet until the air holes were fully exposed before putting everything back together.

Its worth while to go ahead and debur and chamfer the holes on the end and sides of that center pin while youre at it btw.

Air flow and juice feeding problem fixed... and one more benefit...no more whistle sound haaaaaaaaa
