Hey all, apologies if this has been covered, but a quick search didn't turn anything up on this. I've researched a kayfun for a while before finally buying a kayfun clone for myself, but this particular issue never popped up in the threads I've read, is this an uncommon issue?

The delrin/plastic insulator underneath one of the posts has gradually been melting. Not quite to the point where the device shorts out, but it's close and I want to find replacements before this one gives out so I don't have to stop vaping while I wait for them:D. I've found a set here: Kayfun Positive Post Insulators - 5 pack - Kidney Puncher, but the price is ehhh for pieces of plastic.

Also, does this melting insulator mean that I've been mis-using my Kayfun? I don't have a torch so I wrap my coil and dry burn it on the posts until it gets red hot, but I feel like that's the reason why the insulator is melting. Is that the cause?

Here's a pic of the melting insulator for those unsure of what I'm asking about:

You can see that the post has begun slanting as the plastic melts too.

I know that a seller has upgraded insulators for kayfuns and other stuff in an upgrade kit. I think All I can say about it is its sold by a rotund father who also vapes possibly found on ebay too. the only reason i can think fo causing this is a short and that that insulator may be some kind of plastic. As far as stopping this from happening I am sorry to say IDK but I would seriously consider the upgrade kit it will probably solve the short. check with your multimeter if you want to find it, i had a short in the button of my Origin clone which was fixed with Noalox (the threads were too loose and causing shorts) Something may be machined incorrectly and the kit will fix that (hopefully)
IT INCLUDES THE BLOCK, INSULATORS, SILICONE RING, SCREWS, CENTER POST, AND POSITIVE CONTACT[\Quote]

I just had this conversation elsewhere. If you sub-ohm the insulator WILL eventually fail. If you don't, follow Clouds advice.
Again, the Kayfun line was designed for flavor not vapor, and not meant to be sub-ohm'd. Considering it is a clone, it probably does have a plastic insulator. You get what you pay for..

Also, in your pic I see the center pin is way to high (probably from the melted away insulator) When you pulse your coil on the deck, don't set there and hold it or it will melt the insulator. Just make sure if you do build on it again before you get a new insulator(which I would not) make sure you pull the coil up far enough that it does not make contact with your centerpin.
