Today I purchased a KayFun clone and, after about an hour, managed to build my first coil and wick it. It turned out rather well, and man was it a good vape! I do have some serious issues with it though. First, it leaks like a sieve-especially out of the air flow hole. I made sure I didn't overfill it, and I filled it from the bottom to avoid creating pressure. There is also juice coming out the five/ten connector, and I'm afraid I'll damage my ProVari. Second, the threading isn't all that great. It's smooth enough, and I want it to be tight, but this thing hermetically seals itself. I have to use a jar opener to get it open. Lastly, the pin on the five/ten connector is such that it doesn't fit flush my mod. This is mainly an aesthetic issue, but it looks silly being crooked. Due to these problems, I've gone back to using my nautilus Aspire for the time being. So here's my question and my dilemma. I really want to get a good rebuildable tank. If I spend the 100$ on the the genuine KayFun Lite Plus will it have these problems? I love the quality of the vape, I just want a product of equal quality. Also, does anyone know where to order one from? None of my local Vape stores carry them. Thanks for any feedback!

Which clone did you get? How did you fill it? They only time I've ever had problems with leaking from the air hole is when I've filled them from the top. There's a special way to fill them from the top but I've really never had any luck that way. IMO the best way to fill them is through the filler hole in the bottom. Never had a leak that way.

Yours is probably not leaking through the 510 connector. It's just probably juice that has seeped underneath it from the air hole. IMO.

I have 3 EHPRO KFL+'s and haven't had any issues with these clones.

I have an authentic Svoemesto Kayfun Lite plus2. Although I love this rebuildable tank, it has had its learning curves.

I've had the same leaking issues with my KFL+. The problem has been solved, but I'm not certain which solution was the specific fix.

The threading of the tank pieces are rather fine and minute. A person with better eyesight than myself noted that I had cross-threaded the plastic tank part with one of the metal pieces. Running a fingernail around where the plastic met the metal revealed a tiny gap. This gap could have allowed enough of an air leak to upset the vacuum required in a Kayfun. I also replaced the upper o-ring that fits into the top tank piece. Since I've done these two things, the leaking has disappeared.

A trick my friend showed me to do after a tank refill, is to prime the tank by blowing into the air hole under power. A couple of toots should be adequate. You should see a nice stream of vapor coming out of your drip tip.

Hope one of these possible solutions is helpful. :)

Edit: Here are two other threads with leaking issues with a Kayfun:

There's a couple of o-rings that are supposed to be on the male tank threads. Did you use the metal parts, the small polycarbonate tank, or the large polycarbonate tank? All need the o-rings.

There were some Kayfun clones (the EHPro is one) that came with o-rings that were too small and leaks occurred. If that's it, your vendor should have replacements for free.

Air hole leaks usually occur when you fill from the top instead of through the screw removed at the bottom. Go back and look at the instructions that came with yours and see if you have all the parts assembled correctly. When I assemble the large tank and the top cap, I have to turn the parts backwards whilee applying light pressure until I feel the click when the threads align, then I turn forward and it's all good.

As Baditude said, it's easy to crossthread the poly tank. I did that at first also. Air can leak in and cause coil flooding which drains into the air hole.

I had issues with the 2 clones leaking know matter what I did. The fill screw is lined up so the chimney base will not go all the way down if the fill screw is all the the way in. If I tighten the chimney base down then the fill screw wouldn't go all the the way in. So it would either leak from the air hole or the fill hole. I finally gave up on them, there are some good clones and some really bad ones.

Try the things mentioned above posts and I hope you have better luck than I did.

Kayfun tanks are simple to work on and fix.
Really helps to know Which one you have though as they have differences. 3.1, lite, Plus, V2........

I dropped and Broke a Kayfun Lite today - Grabbed the 2 halves and screwed it back together so fast I only lost 1/2 the e-liquid. Kayfun Still kicking ..... :D

Still liking my EHPro Kayfun 3.1 clone.

It's worked flawlessly for a while now. I'm sure there are lots of clones that work really well, too. FWIW, the fill screw on mine is about 1/4" long and doesn't interfere with the chimney at all. I"m using the full length polycarbonate tank and it works well for pocket carry and doesn't cross thread as long as you are careful when you put it on. I pull mine apart and wash it out ever 3 or 4 days when I change the cotton wick.

hey everyone, 1st time building my kayfun 3.1 today! Yah Success!. And to top it off I am legally blind. But I did it, it took me a bit longer but it works great. I wrap some .29 kam wire with 10 wrap to be a little conservative, it measure out at 1.82 ohms a bit higher than I wanted. But WOW does it work great!. New time a little bit fewer wraps to try to get down to 1.3 to 1.5 ohms that's about where I want to be. I am using a MVP set to 4.7 volts at 10.5 watts. i am really wanting to try it on my Testla when it comes next week then crank it up a bit and see what it does. Any suggestions anyone? would really like to here about other builds out there.

Not sure if you know but your MVP is an either or proposition... and please forgive me if you do...

You either select Wattage and the unit will automatically determine the correct voltage setting,
OR
you select Voltage and the unit will automatically determine the correct wattage setting.

That's the beauty of a VV/VW device.

I'm not sure which one I have as it's not indicated on the box. It just says Kayfun. I really love this local brick and mortar vape store, and they've never steered me wrong. This is the only thing they've sold me I haven't loved. Anyway, it's sort of become a mute point. Somehow the build deck threading got hermetically stuck to the tank. It wouldn't even come apart with a jar opener. I got mad, got on the internet and ordered a genuine Kayfun lite plus v2. Hopefully I'll have better luck. I don't mind a learning curve-I totally expect one. I just want something made well. Thank you guys so much for all your insight and help! This is a great community that has given me a whole lot of vaping guidance!
