Kayfun Harsh Vape Question

Never had this issue before. kayfun Lite + / 1.4ohm micro / 3.5v / cotton wick / PG Hype 12mg

Getting a harsh, burning sensation in my mouth and throat. Could it possibly be the liquid? Last back From alien Visions was smooth as butter. Have tried a new coil and lower voltage.

Any other ideas?

Sounds like a wicking issue or the coil is too close to the air hole. Hype is prety smooth, so it's probably too much cotton in the coil, or your wick legs are too short or blocking the chanels.

I bet the coil is too close. I remember it being pretty low. Going to fix that and report back.

Pulled the coil up a little. Still a little harsh. Maybe I'll try and rebuild the coil.

Crap, crap, crap.

Totally took everything apart and rinsed in hot water. Rebuilt coil same as always. Same thing. Next would be to try a different liquid.

The saga continues.

If the coil looks correct, has the ohms you expect and it dry burns evenly(Center out) no need to change.
Check and adjust or change the wick. Confirm coil height and clearance to positive deck.

If still harsh, you may have a bad mix. It occasionally happens. I have even gotten a blend that was so screwed up it stopped me from inhaling. Felt as though my lungs had gotten burned and took 3 days to get back to normal function. Not a nice experience.

That's exactly the feeling I am getting, burn, in my mouth and throat. Gonna try another flavor and if it's ok I'll send an email to Alien Vision.

I hate to hear that about Hype, but I'm glad you got your Kayfun working properly.

Just a follow up on this.

Without hesitation, Christine cross shipped me another bottle of Hype. I stalked the postwoman and just filled a tank. Exact same setup other than Koh Gen Do cotton.

I am happy to report that is was a bad batch. Vaping like a champ again.

I agree with everyone though on saying that sometimes it can be the wick that needs to be positioned properly. On a kayfun its best you keep the ends of the wick inside the chimney and not run them through the channels. Just a heads up, though this time it's good that all it was, was a bad batch of juice. It happens. So glad you found a solution. Kayfuns are awesome.
