kayfun lite + V2
28ga 1.5ohm micro coil
3/32" drill bit (.093")
Cellucotton Rayon or regular cotton, doesn't matter
Provari @ 13.5 watts (4.5 volts)

The problem: Flavor is good for less than a full day. I barely get 3ml out of it before the coil gets gunked, flavor first becomes muted and then soon after it tastes harsh and nasty. Is my coil diameter too large? Maybe too much wick? I hear of people getting 30ml out of a kayfun and I find that ridiculous. I get about 3ml out of it and then end up dumping the juice so I can replace the wick and dry burn the coil. It goes bad pretty quick.

What kind of juice are you using? I find the sweeter flavors do tend to gunk quickly. I usually change my wicks out every 3 or 4 tanks but I use fruity flavors and menthol flavors mainly.

I do find that it happens worse and faster with the dark colored, sweet juices. Strawberry vanilla (dark color) and a dark tobacco, sweet juice, neither of them last longer than 3ml. When vaping thug juice or light flavored fruit juices, you are right, they do last longer. I can maybe get 1.5 tanks from those but its not much better. Flavor gets muted, coil gets gunked and once it gunks, the flavor goes to crap.

What size is your coil? I usually find smaller-diameter coils are actually worse for bad behavior where wicking is concerned. I started using 7/64 size bit to wrap my coils when I was still using cotton, and haven't changed that since I went to rayon.

One thing I have tried with fair results, with badly-gunked but not *burnt* wicks, is rinse them with distilled water, until all the gunk rinses away, then gently blot with a paper towel and re-juice the wick. The first couple hits will be really light, because of a bit of water remaining, but after that the wick becomes usable again. It's not a perfect fix but it will serve if you're in a hurry and don't want to take the time to rewick.

If it's possible, you might also try diluting the juice just a tiny bit with a little more PG, or mixing it/buying it with a higher proportion of PG, or if that's not possible, a tiny bit of distilled water. If the juice is just a bit thinner, it's not quite so bad at the gunking-up thing.

so both the rayon and cotton gunk exactly the same and both gunk in the same time period? I know with the rayon, if you are using to much its going to gunk a lot faster. how much resistance does it take to remove your wicks after, lets say this 3ml period? do they pull right out really easily? do they pull out to where its kind of pulling the coil out of position? 3/32 is a little large imo but not sure if a larger coil gunks faster then a smaller coil but its worth a try. the main thing is with such a large coil, the wick tails can be way to much. even when I use a 2mm coil with rayon, I trim my wick tails a little thinner because its just to much wicking material down on the ledge, so a 3/32 coil is definitely going to crowd and quite possibly block off the juice channels more so after a few mls because the cotton is swelling after this time. so there is 2 issues when dealing with wicks, one is having the correct amount in the coil and two, the correct tail amounts. with smaller coils one doesn't have to worry to much with trimming the tails but on the monster diameter coils the tail amounts can be too much indeed especially if your using to much in the coil initially. lastly the juice itself can just be a gunker juice and the only ones I have heard that people do indeed have issues with after a few mls are Net juices. these can be quite tricky to vape in these tanks but a properly done rayon wick should net you at the least a full tank.

I'm using a larger coil than yours, but am having no issues what so ever. I can use one wick for apx. 4-5 tanks and change when the draw gets tight. Rarely does it get a burned taste. I did notice that your pushing a lot of voltage for the resistance. Try adding 2 to your voltage over the ohm's. Ie, ohm is 1.5 so add 2 volts. 1.5 + 2 = 3.5 and adjust from there. It will give somewhat less vapor, but not all that much less, but the flavor will be MUCH better. In fact, for some juice I have here, I have to subtract .1 or .2 after adding the 2 to the ohms. some I can add 2.5, but 2.2 is really pushing it to keep from frying your juice in the KayFun.
Just my opinion, but I don't' like changing wicks all the time. Once every 4-5 days is plenty for me. I'm lazy! LOL!!!

I am using a very similar setup to you and can go 4 to 5 tanks before I rewick.
Ehpro Kayfun Lite
.075 dia coil 28 ga
1.4 ohms
Organic cotton wick
15 watts (4,6 volts) on a VaporShark rDNA.
Strawberries and Cream 45%PG/55%VG juice.

Since our setups are very close to the same, I would guess your problem has to be with your wicking as Vapdivrr posted above.
