So today I received a kayfun 3.1 supposedly by hcigar. I highly doubt it as no hcigar packing was included, it was 34.99, and just.. Yeah.

For the first thirty minutes every coil read over 4.0 ohm's. I couldn't figure what was wrong til I remembered to adjust the 510. It get an accurate ready on my vtr, have to adjust it for my mvp, and on my mechs I have no way to test the ohm so I hope it isn't jumping back up so high.

Outside of that, I'm getting very little flavor and very little vapor. It has a 1.6 30g micro coil with cotton. I dunno what the big deal is cause I'm disappointed. I do have one question and that is how to adjust the airflow. I will attach pictures I see one screw and two open holes.

This is the airflow adjustment screw. Screw in for less airflow, screw out for more. The hole next to it is the airflow inlet; the other hole is the fill port.

Pics of your coil/wick setup would be helpful. I'm currently rocking the same build on my KFL+, and mine's fine. Some things to remember are:

  • Keep the coil over the airhole in the middle of the build deck and don't let it touch the deck.
  • The wick should touch the lower deck, but should not cover the fluid inlets on either side of the lower deck.
Hope this helps.

Sounds like you didn't bother to take it all apart and clean it before building. Could be machining debris in the Air channels restricting flow. this would cause low flavor and vapor production.

Kayfun is not designed for Cloud chasing. It is designed for excellent flavor and can produce decent vapor.

I've got $13 Kayfun Clones that work perfect.

The Kayfun's chamber design is meant to optimize flavor and be an extremely easy solution for people on the go, one thing it does not do well is cloud chasing, it was never designed to. I've build dual micro coils just to see what it "can" put out I was never impressed. That said the Kayfun is a very satisfying vape is very portable and easily refilled, all points where it excels and well exceeds other tanks in it's category.

That said as with practically any new piece of gear you need to wash new gear out (especially the Chinese stuff), it's packed with machine oils, I'd also take everything apart break it down to it's bare minimum and put it back together making sure everything is snug and give it another go.

Ok looking at your pics, a couple of problems. Your coil should be mounted either perpendicular to or diagonally to the post screws. The coil must be centered over the air hole in the center of the build deck. The height of the coil above the air hole makes a big difference too, a good place to start is make the bottom of the coil level with the tops of the post screws. It looks like you have too much wicking, and it is cut too short to reach the lower deck to soak up the juice. It is astonishing how little cotton you need to properly wick a Kayfun. It can be difficult to judge by looking at pictures, because the perspective makes the coil and wick look huge.

Here is a pic of a build on my Kayfun to give you an idea. Hope it helps, and good luck!

Well it was sure doing a pretty good job of it. Not that I'd go get one for it. He had to do quite a bit to it to get it there from the looks of the video.

The airflow is adjusted by the little screw on the middle base. The screw pictured in you last image, the attached image.

Not sure why you bought the 3.1 version as the Kayfun Lite + V2 versions are much better and smaller.

Did it come in any packaging? If it did please post a picture of that.

Just a little FYI the KFL+V2 versions are not better than the 3.1's , they utilise the exact same chamber configuration on both , I prefer the airflow on the 3.1's , but given the same build they produce very similar vapes .

This, and until you get your wicking down, less leaks

You seem to be good at missing the point. <Original Design> Flavor - Modified anything - a Change from Original intent.

I didn't mean to throw this thread into left field. I wasn't trying to make an argument about how it's used. I read where the OP said "little vapor" and I just happen to see a video that morning where a dude was making an obnoxious amount of vapor. I meant it as a joke as in "I know they can do it"...LOL

My apologies to the OP (and to you as well if you thought I was trying to do anything other than comment on a video I saw)

Personal preference really, I tried a kayfun 3.1, I hated the airflow, too loud. So I bought KFL+V2, with no regrets.

They may use the exact same chamber configaration but refilling the 3.1 is a real pain compared to the bottom fill method of the KFL+V2

    Agreed on every point.

If quality of vape is the only consideration, I prefer the 3.1. If everything else to be considered is taken in to account, the KFL+ v2 is my choice because of its smaller profile. The big 3.1 just sits way too tall to be a good carry device.

I strongly disagree. I find the fill port on the 3.1 much easier. I also have squeeze bottles with luer lock needles on the top cap and really enjoy not having to take the atty off the MOD in order to fill it.

Just turn it upside down, pop the needle in the hole, squeeze, done. No screws to take deal with means no risk of losing them.
