Kayfun Lite+/Russian 91

Good Day Everyone,

I have been giving serious consideration about purchasing either a kayfun Lite+ or the Russian 91%. So, I have been perusing the internet starting with the less expensive Russian. What I am finding where it is in stock, the price ranges from ~$80-$90. One sight says that it's manufactured by Kebo, which I believe is a Chinese firm. The others make no mention of the manufacturer. I know this may sound a bit strange, but I am an individual who believes the design originator should reap the rewards of his work. Therefore, I have a few questions. 1) Who is the original designer and what is his cost? 2) Where would I order the Russian from to ensure that I am receiving an original so the designer receives the fruit of his labor? 3) Similar information would be appreciated for the kayfun.

From what I've been able to figure out, the kayfun was designed in Russia, but the company (two people, basically) split, and one of them makes the KayFun in Germany, which is why they're stamped "Design in Russia, made in Germany". The Russian was designed by the other person, and is made in Russia.

Finding real versions can be a challenge, as retailers her seem to only get them in dribs and drabs, but you can buy the KayFun from their website in Germany:

SvoeMesto | Highend Selbstwickelverdampfer und Akkuträger

I don't know if the Russian is sold from the manufacturer, I've never been able to get a company name for who makes them. They're made by a company called "UCT".

Mount Baker Vapor is now selling a 91% Russian, but there's no indication if it's a Chinese knock off, or from the original manufacturer.

Then you don't want a Russian 91% as it's just a modified Kayfun :D, if you want the real vendor to reap the rewards it's the Kayfun Lite Plus that'd be a good option as has air control.

The Russian was designed and is made by the guy who designed the KayFun. It's not really a knock off or clone, it's an evolution of the KayFun (KayFun has added all the new things the Russian has). The only way to reward the designers is to buy both. :)

The Kayfun Lite Plus is SvoëMesto and as far as I've seen the only US supplier is Vaperev. That is whereI purchased mine from and there might be others but I'm no longer looking. I know Cloud 9 Vaping has them instock, but it is UK based, so prices are in pounds and you have to pay for international shipping.

the Russian 91% is a copy/clone of the original Kayfun Lite, but added air flow control and an adjustable center pin. The air flow is easier to adjust than the KFL+ because of screw location, you don't need to remove it to adjust. Many sites have it, but it is frequently out of stock. The Russian 91% is made by Kebo, the same company that makes Kanger products. Most site list it for $92.50 as I beleive the price is set by the manufacturer. I read one site when I was still searching that raised their price to that because the manufacture informed them it was the price, period and if they wanted anymore, they would match it. I purchased my Russian 91% from Kidney Puncher, on a preorder.

Any price less than $99 for a KFL or 92.50 makes me suspect it is a clone. But, I could be wrong.

As pointed out above it's not made by the Kayfun guy and no money goes toward him it's basically a clone but a bloody good one but since OP requested money to go to design originator, then i stick to my first post.

I'd recommend the KFL+, I got mine yesterday and built a 1.3ohm coil and I seriously can't put this thing down. It's a nice warm vape that is bringing out so much flavor in my juice that wasn't there with Regular Clearo's. Easy to setup and it Bangs hard. Such a satisfying vape that I honestly won't buy another clearo haha

Guess I was just unlucky with my R91. It was unusable out of the box and required replacement insulators. For the $100 price tag, it seems like it should be inspected before it ends up in the box. If I hadn't gotten the Kayfun first, I doubt I would've been able to figure out what was wrong with it and given up. With that said, once I got the new insulators on it to fix all the shorts, it is a fine tank. I still prefer the KFL+ though.
