I have 2 kayfun lite +. One had a nice damped sound when I drew the air with it, the other had a bit harsher sound, a little bit of a whistle sound. I started comparing them and what I found out is that on the nicer sounding one , the screw that goes from the bottom unto the coil post , it didn't turn in the same direction when fully screwed into the post. The screw has a Airhole in it that goes all the way up to the coil.

It looks like this

As you can see it depends on how far you need to screw in to secure the Coil post what direction the air hole opening faces.

I wanted the air hole on the screw to face the air hole on the body when fully tighten up.

So what I did was to add a tiny washer here

Now when I skrew the airscrew in the washer gives me enough friction to make it possible to choose how the air opening on the screw faces when you tighten it. But a WARNING , you will probably have a little more chanche to have the coil post to turn a little bit inside , so be careful and watch the coil post when and if you do this.

So this is how it looks now when secured , the air hole on the screw is fully open against the air hole at the body.

And now it sounds the same as the other one. nice damped sound with no whistle.

And btw you can actually now turn the screw a little bit back and forth to adjust the sound a little to your liking.

wow. I don't know how you managed to catch this, but sounds pretty interesting. I would have to check mine. Thanks for the post.
Btw, if you are using o-ring, the center pin will stick out more. KFL+ is notorious for leaving a gap on the mod and this will make the gap wider.
I have seen posts where people sanded down the air hole pathway claiming that the hole weren't smooth which caused the noise. Some took small drill bits to smooth it out and claimed the sound went away. I haven't tried this (don't have whistling problem) but figured I would post it.

I may have to try it on the next tank fill. It looks like the oring is making the insulator cover part of the screw airhole... Did u file it down? For one of my clones it came like that so I filed that down. ATM I'm not getting any whistle and I didn't touch the center screw as well as its still sitting flush on my nemmy....which is weird lol.

Do people actually get more air flow when the AFC screw is out? I wouldn't think so since it its taking half of the air from the bottom and half from the airhole. Now if it the screw is in or its sitting flush then all the air would be coming from the airhole.

Just did the fix. There still is a faint whistle, though not as loud as previous

Edit: actually its the same

Which oring did u use? I have 2 small ones. One was the smaller diameter and thicker, the other was thinner but bigger diameter which I used

I changed the oring I used earlier to the thicker one thats prob used to for the fill-hole. The whistle isnt as low pitched but a higher note when hard draws lol

I did the unthinkable and finally just drilled the lower part of the hole trying to bevel the lower part, kinda sloppy but no whistle just air intake sound. To fix the sloppiness I drilled a 5/64 drill bit 1/4 into the hole. LOTS BETTER

All I did was remove the air control screw, but then I also like an airier draw.

I've heard all kinds of fixes for the KFL+ whistle, including beveling the airhole (which is waaaay too much effort imho).

I have the Tobeco KFL+. Removing the Allen-key airflow screw did the trick for me too.

I did something similar to Lreyes66 final solution. The problem is turbulence from the straight entry path for the air hole. Since I use a thicker juice I need the adjustment screw that's on my clone. So I chamfered the air hole with a 1/8" drill bit, then used a tapered burr in the Dremel to shape it, finished with a #56 drill 1/3 the way through the channel. Now there is no whistle, the draw is still adjustable. Perfect!Nimbus-Kayfun.jpg
