Thanks for the kanthal jammed in the airhole trick - that whistling was irritating the crap out of me. A little folded-up kanthal in the airhole has saved it.

A little piece of rolled stainless steel mesh works too, although I'd caution anyone doing this to make absolutely sure there is nothing getting too deep inside the air hole and that anything shoved in there is locked in place and won't move. The airflow path goes directly to the center positive pin and if any wire or anything touches it a short will result.

yep just shorted!! but it does work!!
but so far this is the best method

I'm looking for my fishing line and I'll shove 3 strands inside, that should work and be safe
