So, I just purchased the kayfun lite this weekend. It should be here Wednesday and I was just wondering what's (in your opinion) the best set up? I will probably use cotton, since I love cotton, but should I go with a micro coil, sub ohm, use ribbon kanthal..... I've just never used a tank like this. I planned on setting it up like I do on some of my drippers, but didn't know if that was the best way. Any help is appreciated.

A 1.2 ohm micro coil with .28 ga kanthal and cotton is real hard to beat. Simple build. Love the kfl....

Yep yep and yep.

My normal build for my KFL's and my 3.1's.

1.6 is a butter zone for me. Can put it on mechs and vv/vw's without any burning unless I run dry, which is pretty hard to do on a Kayfun if you're running windowed.

KFL on a mech is literally the best vape of my life, and I just bought my wife a valkyrie.

Micro + Cotton = Perfection.

I clock in around 1.1 ohms.

I had very very spotty success with ekowool, ribbon wire, 2mm silica, and standard kanthal up until the cotton build, and it's been complete bliss ever since. If there's one atty that I would hands down recommend to anyone it's the KFL with this build. My only gripe period is that I want the lite+ with airflow control and an o-ring on the fill port.

The nice thing about the KFL, Russian... hell, all the differential pressure RBAs, is that you can try all sorts of coils and wick materials.
24 through 32 ga. Kanthal - round and flat - Rene 41 - 4 wraps to 12 wraps - single and dual - horizontal and vertical.
The same with wick... cotton is popular - ekowool, hemp in rope and shredded - hard and ceramic rope - nickel foam... and combinations of wick materials to obtain both good capillary action and juice retention.

Conservatively - 10 thousand posts and videos... and all the owners say "it's the best vape ever" for their particular build. :)

The only build that doesn't work too well is too much wick material in the chimney which can obstruct air flow and/or block the channels. That aside, this the best RBA I've ever used. I have the KFL and the 3.1, and prefer the 3.1 because I prefer a slightly tighter draw myself. For this reason, I think the Russian 91% might be the better device with air flow control. However, I did get used to the draw after a while, and then later ordered the 3.1. Love the Kayfun's over the Ithaka and Genesis, and enjoy those as well. Hard to beat a 30 second coil with cotton, 1.2 - 1.6 Ohms, hybrid on my Semovar. Best there is, imho.

Another KFL fan here.
I use mine mainly with a mini coil (2mm) using 30 g kanthal and cotton from a cotton make up removal pad (pinched from the Wife).

Tried cotton, ekowool and silica on it all work great. But cotton's my favourite at 1.2 - 1.7 ohms

Match the KFL up to my Paps Lux and I'm in heaven :)

Hey guys, I am also enjoying the Kayfun Lite experience. Running it with a micro-coil (28g kanthal) with cotton wick, right at 1.6 ohms so I can use it on my Provari and Mamu Stealthy DNA20 mod. This atty, has been my best investment, by far! Now, SM is coming out with a revised/updated version that will include air flow adjustment... like the Russian 91%. Check Todd's Reviews on youtube.

9/10 microcoil with 26g kanthal around a 5/64 drill bit (should be about .92) with organic cotton ball is my favorite build on the KFL or the 3.1 ;)

I'm using cotton and microcoil on my russian. I really like the way it hits but it doesn't wick too well, maybe the ohms are too low. I'm at .7ohms right now

M4NTIS, check your wire... what are you using? With micro coils at that low of setting, it would probably be best to use 28/30 ga. Cotton is awesome as long as it stay juiced up. Ensure your cotton legs are right above the juice channels; otherwise, it will definitely have wicking issues.
