Speaking of clones.
I laughed my a-- off when someone posted that they used GENUINE Temco Kanthal wire. If Kanthal didn't make it its a clone. I guess its its like Kleenex every tissue is Kleenex all resistance wire is Kanthal.
And band-aid, Levi's, Xerox and Coke. Some brands were just so strong their name became iconic.

Ok, so my kayfun mini clone came in today, posting up my impressions. I'm not going to post up any pictures, as it looks... exactly like a kayfun mini, it's brushed stainless with what looks like polished or chromed bits for the chimney. Mine also has the svoemesto logo on the chimney itself. This is the clone from Ivogo, that Angelcigs sells, not the Tobeco clone.

Packaging: Nicely packaged but pain in the ... to get open, I basically had to tear the thing to bits to get inside. It comes with:

  • Kayfun mini
  • Plastic tank section
  • Extension chimney topper
  • Fill bottle
  • Screwdriver
  • Extra o-rings
  • eGo beauty ring

The eGo beauty ring does not fit. It's too tall, and prevents the mini from connecting. Do not bother with it.

Build quality: Pretty standard fare for a clone. The threads squeak, wobbly in places. Do not even bother trying to fill it through the fill port, it just doesn't seem to work. Filling it up through the top is ok. The adjustable airflow seems a little junky, it works but it is not smooth at all. Now that being said, I can really tell the difference in airflow adjustment with this, over my Russian 91%, but it's not a subtle change at all. You get either a very tight draw, or a loose draw. You'll know when you've opened it up enough as the screw seems to catch when you open it up, then you adjust it back down to about flush with the body and you're good to go. This device does not sit flush on eGo devices, as the 510 is a little too tall, so you get a bit of a gap. It's not bad, but it is there. The o-rings are pretty damn bad. Very loose, they fall out often when tearing down so be mindful of that.

So with all of that, how does it vape?

Like a champ. I got a 1.5 ohm coil cotton wicked sitting on top of an eGo at 4.2v and it hits hard. Flavor is just what you would expect from a Kayfun style device and excellent vapor from it. So my final consensus, if you can put up with all of the typical flaws that a clone will have, it's definitely worth 30 bucks. I've experienced no leaking, no gurgling no dry hits, everything performs as it should. I am quite impressed, especially with this being the first Kayfun mini clone out of the gate.

I got mine from Angel today. Didn't come with an ego ring, but I've got a bunch of them laying around. Built a quick microcoil to test it out, removed the airflow screw, like I do with all my Kayfun style attys, and it leaked a bit at first, but seems to be vaping just fine. Not bad for the price. Came with a stainless steel tank and a plastic one, some extra o rings, and a few screws, as well as the standard Keychain screwdriver and a little bottle. No squeaky threads, no wobbles, and a decent build in general. I'll play with it for a bit, and update sometime soon. So far, so good.

have both right now but have yet to try the clone or try to interchange parts but everything looks good as far as looks and feel goes. Origanal drip tip sits a tiny bit better... No tiny wobble and the air flow ajust screw looks like it makes a better seal on the orginal lol don't know how to explain that part but hopefully will have a chance to play with it today or tomorrow

I always wanted a Kayfun Mini but the price turned me off. This looks like a good clone at a price I can't refuse. Can't wait to try it in my microstick!

I was the same way, so I decided to give this one a whirl. It does have its flaws as noted above, but I definitely think I got my money's worth. I wanted something I could stick on an EGO batt to make it easy to use while I'm working outside, and this fits the bill. I've gotten spoiled with my Kayfuns, and just don't care to use clearos anymore.

My Kayfun Mini arrived from Angelcigs in just a few days. A pleasant change from the long wait time for other clones from Fasttech. This clone was very nicely packaged and came with a printed manual copied from the original manual. You can view an online manual here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5440288/SM/KMv2.1_UserManual/KMv2.1_UserManual_ENG.pdf

Build quality was very good. No rough threading and a nice matte finish. I assembled the KFM in standard form. There is also a shorter dripper mode and an extremely long version. The pic below shows the KFM unpacked and installed in my Microstick. I haven't built a coil yet but will put in a microcoil and cotton build soon. Overall, I'm very impressed with the quality and packaging. A great value IMO!

Microstick? Interesting, can you tell more about that thing?

Microsticks are made in Israel by a guy called Fels. Lots of Youtube reviews. In Youtube, search for "Microstick reviews". They are hard to get. I got one last year by preordering and waiting almost two months.
If you pick the right mini atomizer, you will have a tiny but mighty stealth vaping machine! Mine is paired with a Sophia from Atmistique.

Just wanted to add this: Two friends and I pre-ordered Microsticks at the same time. One chose the matching atomizer that Fels makes (forgot the name) while another friend got a GP Spheroid. I used an Evod and later upgraded to a Sophia. I was perfectly happy with the Evod, but got tired of people asking "how can you buy a $150 mod and stick a $6 atty on it?" Because I'm cheap! lol

You may want to check out the other Kayfun mini thread, more info there. I got the Tobeco version. Generally good. EGo ring is the proper size. The clear tube, OTOH isn't. It's walls are thicker than the metal section. I doubt anything thicker than 100% PG has any chance of flowing through the extremely narrow gap between the wall of the chamber and the clear section (it's debatable if even that would flow). It's OK to use in long mode if you use it as the middle section. All in all its an acceptable clone. Filling from the top works well enough. I screw in the airflow screw all the way, fill from top, put on and tighten top, open airflow screw and wipe up the slight leakage. The Tobeco version doesn't come with the fill can and my standard bottle with metal tip doesn't fit. So I can't comment on whether the fill valve works or not.

If I was buying another I'd get the angelcigs version and hope that the clear section was better designed and didn't have the overly thick walls. And I'd be curious about the fill can and using the fill valve.

Just ordered the one from angelcigs (made by ivogo), will comment on build quality once I have it.

Think I saw them at health cabin, or focalecig, or FT. Sorry I can't be more precise, as I was looking for ARO's, the glass ones, as they're twice the price here.
They weren't expensive, around the 10-15$, if I remember, but one was in chromed brass, which, looking at my well used chromed Vamo, I don't fancy using for juice. But there were SS ones, I'm pretty sure...
Good hunting :D

PS Just took a look at angelcigs mini, it's incredible that it holds 3ml! Nice ;)

For the glass tank, try IBTanked, as they do the size you want, but you couldn't screw it in, which IMO would be a BIG glitch! :(
I use the SS tank with my KF clones, as my juice doesn't like PC always. Some juices are subtle, and you think they're PC safe, but they have a tiny touch of ginger or something and the tank goes cloudy. Which must transfer the PC into the juice. This got me, and now I stick to SS and glass only. Don't know what I vaped before the tank was visibly cloudy :(

Basically there needs to be a kit like there is for the regular kf to adapt from threads to oring seal.

I have the ivogo kayfun mini clone, and the clear section works fine.

Also the fill bottle that comes with it works, however using very thick juice makes filling this method VERY VERY slow
