KayFun on a DNA30 clone...

I just did a fairly large diameter coil on my kayfun. Wound on a torx bit, so in the macro range. 12 turns. ~2.4 ohms. Its very mellow and great tasting at 20 watts. Lots of coil, so I need quite a bit of heat. I wish I had the means to measure it better, but I kinda just threw it together with what I could find in my toolbox. Thoughts?

That's a high resistance for 20W. Not tasting burnt?

My typical kayfun coil was 8 wraps of 28 gauge with 2.4mm inside diameter. 1.6 ohm.

I found that KF's seem to work best between 1.2 - 1.8Ω. My KF's are 1.4-1.6Ω and I vape around 10-12w on my DNA 30. Today, I've been vaping one of my KFL+ on my VS DNA 30 at 10.5w with a 1.6Ω coil.

Thoughts? I'm not sure what you're goal is by building a coil that large. Try again at 7-8 wraps and get those ohms down around 1.5

At the moment I'm running mine at 1.4 and 11.5 watts on a DNA30...... It's perfection.

Go to Lowe's and buy a 7/64 drill bit to wrap your wire around. You can usually get 2 for $1

I'm surprised! I would be dying from harsh, burnt wick

I run 1 ohm builds around 20W.

It does eventually get burnt. And it takes a half of a hit to warm up all those turns.
