I have had my kayfun light plus for a week now and I am seeing a faint brown spot on the outside of the chamber. I wish I could take a pic of it but my phone wont focus in on it. I am wondering if its rust? When I rub my finger over it I cant feel it but it is brown. Maybe it got to hot and made that shape? Here is the best pic I can get out of my camera.

    Thanks

Is that a genuine or a clone ? In either case some 0000 steelwool should take care of it .

Could be discoloration from the heat of your coil. What kind of build do you use, and how much power are you running to this Kayfun?

Are you serious? Did you even look at the picture?

The coil is contained inside a metal chimney that runs through the center of the tank. The discolored part is on the top-outer portion of the tank. For that to be heat discoloration it would have to get hot enough to spontaneously boil all of the liquid in the tank, and then heat the boiled liquid vapor inside the tank so hot that it would discolor the outer stainless steel tank piece.

You're talking about heating the juice and air to several hundred degrees while it was still inside the tank. I think it's safe to say he would be in the hospital if he tried puffing on one that was running that hot. Vapor that hot in the lungs would probably kill him.

Its not a clone by the way

    Oh; it's not a clone.

Well is it supposed to be steel or brass?

    If it's brass the colour sounds obvious, but if it is steel something is wrong;

and why do you say it's not a clone?? Does that mean you ordered it from Svoe Mesto? Or does that mean the guy who said it said it was "genuine"

it looks like the discoloration is on the lower chimney section to me, is your coil tuching the chimney accidently causing a short there

    Thanks

    Digital Microscopes come in handy.

Why, yes I did. Did you? That pic is of the CHIMNEY tube, and the discoloration is right above where the deck is in a Kayfun--in other words--EXACTLY where a coil would be.

If you notice, below the section that is discolored, you can see the threads on the base. That means the TANK is not on this Kayfun, and you are looking at the chimney tube.

I think the only person who needs to go to the hospital is you, so that you can get your meds re-adjusted.

Take a deep breath, and go sub-ohm some anti-depressants or something. Sheesh...

Looks like you may not had clipped the negative terminal wire close enough to where it was touching the inside of the chimney. This wouldn't cause a short because the deck and casing is all part of the negative (ground), but would allow the heat to be right next to the chimney. Or you just missed shorting out the positive terminal wire to the chimney to where with increased wattage or voltage could have caused some arcing. How does the inside of the chimney look?

The picture clearly shows, although out of focus, the base of the atomizer along with both the lower and upper section of the chimney.

You may be right about the heat but I have seen stainless discolor from even fairly low heat when directed directly at it.
