I recently purchased an SOV V2 full glass kit and had a problem where the fully assembled tank did not reach the base of my kayfun, as shown here:

If I assemble it by screwing down the bottom with glass and attaching the top cap last I get this gap on top:

Both leave a gap of around 1/16" in the assembly. After attempting to superimpose my atomizer with the kit against images on the net of what the full size SOV V2 kit looks like, it seems like the glass is too short. I've already received a replacement though, and my second one looks just like the first when I put it together. I know the nano kit doesn't have a gap like this and I've never seen the full size in person but I'm pretty sure it's also not supposed to. Has anyone else encountered this?

The issue could be that you don't have a kayfun, but a russian, those custom kits might not fit russian 91%:s

The first picture is a real Kayfun Lite+. I just happened to have juice in my Kayfun at the time the second fitting took place but I previously confirmed the heights of all parts to both atomizers to be the same.

Is the chimney fitting in the port of the top cap. I had to grind the inside of my low profile top cap to fit both the diameter of my nano chimney and had to taper the oring holder to match the dome of the chimney.

I have previously considered whether it was a machining issue. I'm not sure how far the chimney is supposed to go through the top cap but it looks like it protrudes by about 1/2mm.

I have one genuine Kayfun and one Russian 91% but the issue has nothing to do with the base. The only original part that has anything to do with height of the constructed kit is the bottom part of the chimney, which is the same on both atomizers. The issue is that the fully assembled kit (bottom metal piece + glass + top cap) is not providing enough length to accommodate the fully constructed chimney or the chimney is not screwing deeply enough into the top cap.

I had the exact same problem w/the 2nd one I ordered for my son.
I originally thought it was the glass.
Fortunately I had a correct one to compare it to.
I discovered the metal base part was .72mm shorter than it was supposed to be.
Contact Chris at SOV for a replacement. He was very accommodating for me.
Feel free to refer to my experience and tell him Doug Aiken suggested you contact him.
If you have a problem, let me know & I will see if I can help.

Thanks Doug for writing about your experience. Incidentally, I received confirmation from someone else that the glass height should be 15/16" while mine is only 13/16" so I think in this case it is in fact the glass.

I purchased it from Vapetribe, who claimed there was nothing wrong with it and just resent me the same thing when I sent my old one in for replacement, after letting them know about the issue. Meanwhile, Chris from SOV is the very person that hasn't replied to my emails when I asked if he can help me figure out what's wrong with it. Overall, for such a premium (expensive) product, I was expecting better. I may try emailing Chris again but I'm not particularly optimistic.

I have reached out to Chris on your behalf. We will see if that does any good.
As an alternate solution, you can buy a colored glass tank for it from Spectrum Tanks - Home. They also have an ECF thread.
I know it fits because I bought one. Not because I needed it, but because I wanted a blue one. A matching drip tip is an awesome combination too.
You should not have to do this, but it is an option.
I am quite sure Chris will bend over backwards to resolve your issue, if/when he responds. He is terrible about communicating, but great about supporting his products.
It is not intentional on his part. He is a very busy small operation experiencing significant growth pains. Not an excuse, but it is a reason.
I would pursue him relentlessly! Vapetribe as well. They are just as responsible as the retailer. Tell them what you discovered about the glass size and ask if they back their products or not!
