Not really. I plan my builds around finishing any given tank. Why refill if you feel it will soon need attention?

Once you get used to how many tanks will work well you will have everything under control.

Dark and super sweet liquids count on 3-4 tanks then build.
Light to clear liquids can run up to 10 or more refills.

^ What he said.

I purchased my first RBA over the weekend and have one main question. Is there anyway to rewick or recoil without draining the tank. Also any other tips are greatly appreciated.
8 wraps of 28 gauge Kanthal on a 5/64" bit should give you ~1.3 ohms; this works well on a mech or a regulated mod. Use just enough cotton to fill the coil and cut it so its the ends sit flush on the deck.

Bump,
I really want to hear some tips/experience too! as I will be puchasing kayfun and kayfun mini clones tommorow. Tips on refilling from the top or otherwise since I've had bad experience with my Rocket V2 from fasttech... now Im paranoid.

Also would be great if someone could post a link to a good video for a Kayfun start to finish. Thanks

Well, I never refill my KFL+'s from the top, always the bottom; that fill port is there for a reason. That being said, I have found the Kayfuns to be remarkably good with any build I have tried, from .8 ohm to 2.5 ohm. Micro, macro, regular, dual, vertical coils. You will find what you like. Getting wicking just right is a learning curve, but you will figure it out soon enough. Many of the problems you read about are not due to the device itself, but user error. As far as Kayfuns go, I can recommend the Ehpro without reservation. It is every bit as good as my authentic Svoe.

I have settled on a 2 ohm micro coil, built on a 16ga needle with 30ga kanthal. Wicked with cotton. The performance is outstanding, and it's an easy build. Good luck.

I wish one could work on the kayfun without juice draining, that would be the bomb. because I mess around with so many builds and try comparisons all the time this to me is the only con of the kayfun. it really wouldn't be that hard to make the kayfun adapt to this non draining ritual, for one the very top of the tin mans hat(the small hole that you see if you take off the drip tip and look straight down) that small opening could be threaded(the inside of hole would be threaded, not outside). if this was threaded then there could be another part that could be inserted(before inserting drip tip) this other part is a hollowed tube that threads into one the one end and the other end would rest on the same ledge that the drip tip butts onto. this would hold the whole chimney and tin cap secure so the deck of the kayfun could unscrew from it as you hold the kayfun upside down. also where the tin cap and chimney are connected, those threads need to be reverse threaded. this would make it possible to keep juice in the tank, turn upside down and unscrew the deck out from the chimney just like the aqua tank. I think it would work?

Just received my first Kayfun (EHpro Lite +) on Monday. What I do with mine, is take my syringe with a 16ga blunt tip (16ga is just what I generally use, not particular for it) and pull the juice out. Gets nearly everything out. Then unthread the entire tank section while holding horizontal... What little is left will stay in the tank as long as it's sat on it's side.

Obviously, being able to thread everything off and leave the tank upside down like a Protank would be easier, but I don't find this challenging. Hell, I've even done it with a small tipped bottle... Just pre-squeeze it, place into fill hole, and let the suction do it's thing. Syringe is more efficient though.

Yep.

Fiddling with coils and wicks is no fun. I don't see much advantage to being able to take the tank off. You still have to wash the deck (with a Taifun GT) because if you don't, it's a juicy mess that makes working with it much more difficult. I simply unscrew the top cap of the Kayfun while holding my finger over the air hole and using a syringe to draw out the vast majority of the liquid. Then I leave in in the syringe until I'm done re-wicking (or what have you) and put it back in via the fill port.

yes draining whatever juice that's in a kayfun is indeed easy and is not hard at all, that's not really an issue but for people that may try 2 or 3 different builds in succession its time consuming and you do loose some juice in the process. also for newbies that are having issues with certain aspects of the build, that also is a pain for them to keep syringing juice everytime they are having issues. im sure if it were possible to work on the coil without draining the juice people just starting with the kayfun would master their builds a lot sooner. this is why I have often thought about how it could be done. also why wouldn't you be able to not wash the deck? the only parts that cant be washed wouldn't need to be because the juice is still in it. granted every so often the whole device would need to be cleaned.
