Hi guys, so I picked up a V4 clone because I heard a kayfun is a flavor Mt. Everest, so I got it (beautiful piece BTW, stunning workmanship) did a 1.5ohm 28 gauge on a 3mm rod with 8 or 9 wraps (forgot)...stunning looking coil.....put everything together, hit it with 12W, silent, some vapor (nothing compared to my subtank) but absolutely zero flavor. Started cranking up my istick 30 up and didn't get anything until around 24.5 watts (the same as I use my subtank at)........ what is going on guys? Surely you're not supposed to vape a kayfun at these wattages are you? BTW, I also have the subohm kit installed on it, although my coil isn't a subohm coil. Any ideas?

Are you lung hitting it real hard? You might be flooding it with air and not getting enough vapor. I have the same coil in mine right now, except I have 10 wraps, but its basically the same coil. Vaping it at 13watts with stock airflow center post, airflow screw all the way open and mouth hitting with a little lung pull at the end. Plenty of vapor and flavor.

I seem to be getting a decent amount of vapor, but the flavor isn't there. What I noticed though on the regular kayfun shaft there is a mini screw in it, but on the subohm shaft there is no screw and it is straight through (figured you need more airflow for a subohm build.....I'll try to back off with the hit, try mouth pull only, but I don't think that's my issue....
