Keep passthrough battery plugged in to extend battery life?

Hi. I have a 1100mAh passthrough battery. Should I keep it plugged in when I am at my computer to reduce charge cycles and hopefully make the battery last longer before I have to replace it?

Will this work?

No. Keeping it plugged in will keep it at close to full charge which is worse for battery life than cycling normally.

I've heard these (particularly high mAh batteries) can strain your computer and may fry your motherboard. Perhaps rare, but I'd rather run it through a wall adapter than risk my computer.

It should be harmless assuming you perform a full drain once or twice a week, it can be bad to have a full charge on a li-on for too long.
