I was using a Kensington Ultra Portable Power Pack w/my DIY PT, and have gotten about 1&1/2 days using it (not too sure if it was completely dead, but I assume that you should be able to get to a powered usb hub/outlet before it completely dies).

Battery dropoff was not really what i expected: it went from 5 leds -> 3 ->dead, rather than a count down from 5. Vapor remained very strong throughout the discharge cycle. Overall a good investment, but now that my PD has arrived, will probably use it less. OTOH, my PSUSBPass shipment will also have my 5V switch housing, so I *may* pack it on days where i don't mind the cord, but want to remain at 5V throughout the day.

Warning.

Since it's a lithium battery, it is not recommended to let it go dead. Every time the battery gets completely spent, you reduce its lifespan. (This is why the small lithium batteries that usually come with the ecigs start blinking and stop working when the battery runs low. It's to prevent the battery from becoming completely drained.)

You can charge it as much as you want...that has no negative sides effects. Just don't let it die.

The manual warns about this as well.

When it reaches 2 led's, stop using it and charge it.

Not meaning to brag, but today I bought a Targus 4 port powered USB hub for $14. I got it because I don't want to attach my PS PT to my computer USB ports in any manner. So I have a hub just for my PT and the only connection is has is to the 120vac/5vdc transformer.

I bought my powered hub from Office Depot.

That's cool, lorgain. I'm wanting a powered USB hub also, but decided to buy this because it doesn't have to be plugged into the a power outlet and I can move around with it. Also, the Kensington's charger adapter has a USB port, so I can just plug the passthrough into it and vape from the wall or a powerstrip. I will need a powered USB hub eventually because the PS pass doesn't work on my Mac powerbook.

Found the Kensington USB Power Pack for $39.99 at Best Buy today. I was expecting to spend $50 - $60, so I left a happy man.
Works great with the Puresmoker Passthrough!

Great Deal on a great Product Curtis....Same way I bought mine and it is a great little power supply!

Dam, i just spent 50 bucks on one 2 weeks ago.

Gibby, I think Best Buy may have a 30 day Price guarantee. Give 'em a call, If You have your receipt they may refund the difference. Not positive, but worth a phone call. :)

I also have a Kensington and I'm just wondering how long it will last with the PT.
I'm wondering that also.

Thanks ruuku. I'll be happy if I have similar results.

That sucks, Gibby. Wish I had found out for you sooner.

Thanks for the tip ferv0r. I'll do that.

Yeah thats not a bad price. Although you can get a non name brand one that actually have more "power" to push any atti and last for days. Just search around, i forget the named of mine since i took it apart and put in in a smaller better looking case.

Now you tell me. Ha! This was the only USB power source I could find at Best Buy, and believe me it wasn't easy to find. I asked two sales associates about it. Told them what it was, the name, and what the price was listed as on their website, and they neither of them could find it. Finally, I found it myself in the cell phone section. Kids, pssshhh.

Can I use my usb car charger to run the PT?

I've used a Griffin Ipod USB cigarette lighter adapter to power my old Puresmoker (China) passthrough, and it worked fine, Minna. However, I haven't been able to find it to try the New "Captain America" PS Pass on it yet. Give it a shot and see if it works.

for the simple fact, the software built in to the PS USBpass runs off windows, not MAC. Real men use Linux (not mac or pc) :p

Ha ha! So that's what it is. I thought my Mac was just to wimpy to power it, but now I see that this is all just a conspiracy by the Linux Penguins.

Seriously though, My Pass works just fine on my buddy's PC laptop, but that thing is a hoss! His battery is bigger than my whole laptop.

It is great, Strat. I got it home and charged it up yesterday. It's working beautifully. It looks funny on the big bad passthrough. It's hard to imagine something so small could be so powerful.

So, My Kensington is fully charged yet keeps dying for some reason. When I put it on the charger, it registers 4 steady LED's an one flashing one. So, I put it back on the passthrough, it works fine for few minutes then dies again. I was told in another thread that the Kensington is protecting itself from a short and is rested when put on the charger.

I noticed I had some fluid build up between the atty and the adapter, so I cleaned that up and it seems to be working fine at the moment. Could this fluid build up be the culprit?

I have a Kensignton, and it works great. Almost too great. I was enjoying my PT today. Maybe a little too much. I tasted something funny, and pulled the cart out (801, for the record), and noticed the cart had actually MELTED at the bottom! Guess I let it get too hot... Just a word of caution. I love this PT, but it does get hot.

Yep Curtis, If there is enough liquid to maintain contact between the center post and the threaded brass collar, The Kensington will see it as a short, begin to heat up and then shut down to protect it's internal circuitry from the overload.
