Luvinit - those kids are lucky to have wonderful grandparents who love them! I admire what the 4 of you are doing for those kids, and quitting analogues while dealing with all of that is a huge testament to the power of vaping! I hope it catches on and that we can convert all of the smokers we know into vapers :)

I cleaned my cartos for the first time yesterday & was pleasantly surprised by how easy and effective it was - They all look brand new! I'm planning on filling one of them tomorrow to give them a little extra time to dry out :)
Have any of you tried cleaning your cartos & if so, what was your experience? How often do you clean & what do you use? Have you found that after a certain # of cleanings they stop functioning, etc?
I flushed mine with hot water (syringe & condom with flat end cut off), then soaked in alcohol, followed by a final hot water flush.
Hope everyone is having a great day!

Hi cheeky. I clean my Cartos all the time. I boil them, 2 or 3 times for about 5 minutes each time, until the water stays clear. Rinse, blow them out and I made a little drying rack out of an old plastic lid. Cut Xs in, put your carto in the X, and I put the whole thing on a heat vent. Dry as a nine the next day! You have to make sure they're really dry or they won't work right. They all look the same so it's hard to tell how many times I've cleaned them but u think I've managed to clean most if them at least twice, some tree times. Some peeps here will tell you it's a waste of time but I don't think so. They're good for emergency back ups, if nothing else.

Thanks Luvinit! The plastic lid idea is great! I tried balancing mine on their ends, but most of them kept falling over :)

Our AC is running (we live in Florida - it's already/still hot here!), so heating vents are out for drying. I'll just have to be patient - I have lots of new ones left from my first order, so no real rush :p

I know we've talked about clearomizers before, but I am still confused about which is best -do all of the sites sell the same brand clearos, or if there are significant/ important differences between the various makes & models?? I love all of the options we have as vapers, but it really can be overwhelming!
I like the idea of a Wick rather than polyfill since I think some of them have a funky chemical taste!
....................(Tapatalk doesn't seem to allow new paragraphs so I'm trying a string of periods :p).......... ...............

Along the same lines, have any of you tried replacing the polyfill with a Lipton pyramid tea bag? I saw a youtube of it, but wonder how effective it is/ if it's worth trying. I wonder how it will soak up the liquid/ not leak, etc. Any thoughts good or bad would be appreciated!

Well I used that clearomizer all night at work last night,, went through a whole tank, about 1.5mls I guess. And I liked it ok,, the flavor certainly is better.. no polyfill taste at all. But that wick being on the top is a pain. You have to tip the thing to charge the wick all the time once the liquid gets a bit low. I'll use it as long as it still works but likely won't order those again. I just know there's something better out there. I will say though,, they don't leak at all and that's a huge plus!

So Cheeky... no fair rubbing it in that you have your air going and my furnace is running!! Getting nicer here but still have a bit of snow on the ground. I don't know why you couldn't use my little plastic lid idea on an air conditioner vent.. hey, air is air, right?

I've never tried replacing the polyfill.. figured if I tried that I'd ruin the coil.. I just clean them til they don't work anymore and toss them. I really like the EMDCC's I got.. the only trouble is, they're so big you want to make darn sure you fill it with something you really like.. they hold a lot! I don't think I'd mess around with replacing the polyfill.. too much work. I think I'm going to look for a tank system with the wick on the bottom,, if there IS such an animal.. I really love those phiniac glass tanks.. so so pretty!

Wicked jealous that you have your air running.. but it's supposed to be in the 70s by Monday here, unheard of in this part of the country in March!! Have a great day!!

lol! If it's any consolation, Luvinit, I have to wear a big, hot back brace every time I leave the house, and I turn into a hot, sweaty mess really fat! I'd rather it be cool (shhhhh.... Don't tell anyone from back home lol)

To be clear, does the EDMCC fit the kgo without an adapter?
I think I will have to try the clearos for myself - I don't think having to tilt so the Wick gets wet will bother me, but I'll start out with one & see if I like it :)

Hey cheeky... Yes the EMDCCs will screw onto your kgo and be flush with the battery. No adapter needed. And your cone won't fit with those either. They're awfully big, but once screwed on its a smooth lookin (BIG) device. The clearos I'm still not sure of. Yeah, it worked pretty well, except for the tippin thing. There has to be some kind if clearo-like thing out there that has a wick at or near the bottom. I will say the flavor from it is awesome! It's amazing howmuch filler taste you're actually getting from the cartos. I'm done buyin stuff for awhile,, I'll use what I've got, I'll clean out that clearo and see how well it cleans. Hope your havin a great day. It's FRIDAY YAY!! 7 more hours and I'm done for the weekend!!

LOL until the next awesome sale on blingy batteries :D

The EDMCC sounds pretty great - I think I'll be adding that to my list of things to try!

Let me know how the clearos clean please.
Have a great Friday night!

I got one a couple of days ago but haven't tried it yet. Ordered it at the same time as two Stardusts (SR and LR). I've been using the Stardusts, and like them pretty well. One of them needs to be cleaned already, thanks to some dark gunky juice. I'm anxious to find out what cleaning is like, too. The EMDCC looks like will hold a ton of juice...as someone mentioned previously, better put something I really like in it!

hi Rick,

Have you noticed much of a difference between the LR &SR? Let us know how the cleaning goes - I'm hoping they're as easy as standard cartos :)

Between the SR and LR Stardusts: not much. I think the LR work better with the thicker juice, perhaps. Cleaning it was very easy (although I gave it a very "quick and dirty" cleaning). I wanted a different juice in it, so I just syringed hot water through it a few times, shook it out, then blew it out at the end. Refilled, vaped water (or nothing) for maybe 10-15 hits before the new juice started wicking through. It was that simple, and took less than 5 minutes. I'll clean it more thoroughly with vodka and actual drying time (probably in rice to remove all the moisture) next time, but super simple.

ETA: I reasoned that I wouldn't be vaping it dry, due to the wick having absorbed water in the cleaning, and as the water evaporated the juice would wick. Dunno if I would recommend this method...but it worked for me.

one of mine finally crapped out after 16 days but thats not to bad 30 cents a day

thanks stoggy! Did you clean it during the 16 days/ do you think the boiling method I've read about could bring it back? Either way, 16 days is really pretty awesome! Did you notice any degradation in vapor or flavor before it went kaput?

I cleaned my stardust's the same way you do Rick. Its worked well, but I don't have to clean it often since I don't change joose very often. I also have not seen much difference between LR and SR although some people say LR is better. They might be using VG or thicker juices, as I have not noticed a difference worth making a fuss about.
