I just got my KGO today. I like it a lot. The kit had two full KGOs in it, and both were charged when I got it (nice). I'm new to this type of unit though, and used to the bottom light that blinks when the battery is dead. How do you know when this one is dead, or is it the little light under the button that blinks on this one when the battery is out?

Your best bet if you can help it is never get it to that point. Stick it on the charger when you can and keep it charged up and it'll make the battery last longer. batteries have a certain amount of cycles and if you charge before it's dead it doesn't go through a cycle. Or, that's how it was explained to me- hope I have it right!

REally? Okay. I always thought that batteries had sort of a "memory" and if you didn't let them discharge, they'd soon start thinking they needed charging when they got to the point you always charge them, and you loose life. Maybe that's old-fashioned and it isn't like that anymore.

That's what I thought too. And that's what I did too for about the first three or four months. Then someone explained it with charts and graphs-

That's one of a long list of things I did wrong when I first started. Hay, we aren't born knowing this stuff!

Thanks, and thanks to your post I went and looked it up. Apparently it's the difference between lithium ion and NiCAD (or whatever those names are) the ones we use (lithium ion) does NOT have a memory effect. Cool to know. I guess I'll have to start charging them up sooner. I've been letting my little ones run completely down before charging.

Okay then, one more quick question (sorry about all the questions) can you hurt the battery by leaving it on a charger too long? I like to put them on the charger when I go to bed. I usually get up once in the middle of the night (it sucks getting old) and take them off the charger and go back to bed. Is that okay?

It's best not to leave them unattended. You don't have to pull up a chair and watch it charge, but from some pictures posted when something happens to the battery, it's pretty bad. Someone posted about fire damage in their house.

Someone post a link to some type of bags you can purchase to charge your batteries in on Amazon. I'll see if I saved the link.

i have had my kit for just over a week and have only charged each battery once. i didnt let them get to the point of the LRD flashing but could taste the flavor falling off. i am not a heavy vaper and was getting 2 almost 3 days out of a Mistic battery. i figure i can almost get at least 3 if not 4 days out of a fully charged KGO battery.

I doubt I'd get that much out of one. I am a heavy vaper. I'm hoping for a full day. What I decided to do is charge one of them now so it will be okay for tomorrow, and use the other one for the rest of tonight. If it happens to get low and flash, I'll know. I have my Nebula charged up so I won't be without. If the second KGO lasts for the rest of the night (I've been vaping both of them alternately -- pineapple in one, chocolate malt in the other, lol) all afternoon. I'm pretty sure the one will still be fine for the rest of the evening and maybe tomorrow. As I get better at figuring the timing on them I'll know how to work them. I know exactly how long each of my Nebula standard, and monster batteries will last (2.5 and 3.5 hours). I don't know exactly what to expect from the KGO yet.

They dont come fully charged, but about 3/4 charged. You can def vape some for alittle, but you should give them a good charge when you get them.

Like others said, the batteries dont have a memory and if you can throw them back on the charger when they have about 20-25% left, they will last longer that way.

As far as charging them, I def wouldnt charge them overnight and you should try to not leave them on the charger for extended periods of time after the light turns green.
Most chargers have a chip in them that will stop charging the battery or switch to a trickle charge once the batteries fully charged. It is rare, but that chip can fail, and when that does happen, the charger will not stop charging, and continue to charge the battery after its already fully charged. Like I said, it is uncommon, but it does happen. Most of the stories you hear about batteries exploding, catching fire, etc are because the charger malfunctioned and didnt stop charging the battery once it was fully charged. So thats why I wouldnt charge them overnight and/or leave them on the charger for extended periods of time after the light turns green, more or less just to be safe. Better safe than sorry
