My ego-t 1000 mah battery is about a half inch taller than my KGO 1100 mah. I'm pretty sure that this is a non-issue but I was curious as to why. I like them both and actually prefer the smaller size.

I own EGOs but the KGO seems to be a desirable ecig, with slightly higher than a standard EGO voltage. Glad to know the difference in height. Are they the same diameter?
Ego electronics might take up more space. eGos have a voltage regulator where the kGo does not. If that is not the reason then I'm out of ideas. They both use the same size 130700 battery.

The upgrade model has the selectable circuitry for regulated/ unregulated modes, and also has safety circuitry in there also.
* The eGo-C Upgrade passthrough is more safer than other passthrough because of stronger short circuit protection and over discharge protection.--Healthcabin
Yeah. The Ego upgrade can run in unregulated mode and begins at 4.1 volts, I believe. Then drops off as you use the device. I assume this is the way a KGO works beginning at 3.7 volts. I am not sure Joytech is making anything except the upgrade model now.

Not true. The upgrade eGo-T battery is switchable between 3.4v regulated or 4.2v unregulated. That is also why the eGo bat is a little longer than the kgo.
