I'm new to vaping and after reading some good reviews decided to get a Riva as my first PV. I'm very happy with the Riva, but have been seeing a lot of people here recommend the kGo and was just wondering what is the difference between the Riva and the kGo? Other than name brand, is it just the battery size that is different? And if so, would the Riva with the 1100 mAh battery then be considered basically the same as a kGo?

Thanks for helping a vaping novice out. BTW, this is my first day as a non-smoker, and so far so good :)

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but as I understand it they are essentially the same thing. I'm only familiar with the particulars of the KGO, which I happen to own--it has an 1100mAh battery and is made by SLB. Some websites claim that it is regulated at 3.7 volts, but people who own them report voltages of 4.2 fresh off the charger. I mention that only because this so-called "fat-batt" style usually comes regulated at 3.2-3.3 volts, which assuming the same resistance (x.0 ohms) results in a cooler vape. Also, neither battery is replaceable, so when they stop working, you'll have to buy replace them entirely. The batteries of "Epower" models can be replaced, but some have reported that the overall fit and finish of these devices is slightly inferior to the eGo, Riva, and KGO--I can't confirm or deny that, since I've never used one.

Hi Dant and welcome to ECF. Yes they are basically the same and are both very highly regraded PVs. The good news is they are both 3.7 volts but come off the charger @ 4.2 V. Long story short I've distributed over 90 Kgos and no complaints BUT the Riva also gets high marks from those that have used it.
Good Luck.
