okay, I just got my aw IMR18490 3.7v 1100 mAh(4.1wh) battery in today and i am having hard time getting kick to fire consistently...

I watched the kick instruction video from evolv website and I followed the precise setup @ superT website and used 1 thick O-ring and 1 washer on the switch, but i am getting it to fire only with HEAVY pressure on the button... i mean it only fires if i apply heavy pressure, so i thought maybe i need to add one more washer to the switch but when i do, it doesnt even fire... it really makes no sense to me why its not working.. I tried 1.8 ohm rba atomizer, and regular 1.5 drip atomizer but results are all the same.

Can anyone tell me what steps i should take to troubleshoot this problem? Do i have a bad kick?

edit: After searching this forum i even followed the steps to clean my P+ but with same results ;( I am going to email david and see what i could do

sometimes you need to add a little magnet on the positive end of the battery to make better contact. I do that with my Saber Touch. If you actually download the PDF file for the Kick it will mention that, I know, nobody really reads those, but Im obsessive and try to make sure of all possible problems before. Give that a try. I bought a half dozen just to be sure, cause I loose things all the time. Im down to 3 now. I bought my little magnets on vapormoon.com. I think also on the site they mention the magnet, but it sort of hidden there.

The Kick – Instructions « Evolv thats from the actual site and here is some instructions from super-t The Kick by Evolv: Kicking the PrecisePlus from Super-T Manufacturing - YouTube

Saber "Kick" Edition

From the vapormoon site:
"Please Note: If you are having connective problems, it was suggested by the maker of the Kick to use a tiny battery magnet (like the ones we carry) on the positive end of the battery that touches the Kick. This goes for use on the Saber Touch or ANY mod."

TO be sure, contact Super-T to make sure this is what Super-T suggests, there are always exceptions specific to each model and battery type. Make sure you are using IMR batteries.

i know you have already done most of these suggestions, but in case anyone else has same issues than they can go and see.

They also have the batteries at http://www.avidvaper.com/magnetic-battery-spacers/

I thought I had seen it at Evolve, but now I dont see it there, maybe it was at another site. I will see if I have it on my downloads. Just searched all my hard drives and could not find it. Hmmm, I know the instructions that they had on Evolve were more technical before. Maybe they condensed it for a more friendly less off putting article.

Kicks are extremely sensitive to contact. Switch setup has little to nothing to do with the Kick firing, all adding or subtracting washers does is change the throw distance of the button. With the orings, those only take up any slop between the battery and the Kick. Set up correctly , you should feel slight pressue the last 1/2 turn or so of the top cap as it compresses the battery and kick into the oring and there should be no rattle.

First question, did/does your PrecisePlus fire fine without the Kick?

That being the case, then look to the Kick. Take fine sandpaper to the top and bottom contacts of the Kick, get them clean, immediately place generous amounts of noalox to them so they don't start to oxidize (Bare brass oxidizes extremely quick, maybe we can get Evolv to plate them in their future products). Sand the inside of the Precise tube where the ground spring of the Kick touches, also hit the ground spring edge a bit and put noalox on the inside of the tube where the ground spring will contact. Put a dab on the ground spring too and insert kick into mod.

Either you don't have too (see below) or you're kicks contacts are still oxidized and not making good contact.

Also, try this, don't push hard, push normal and hold and wait a second, the kick has a delay and will often fire a few moments after switch activation.

Sounds like maybe your switch needs cleaning. I've gotten similar symptoms on other mods with dirty switch contacts. If they're dirty enough that full voltage doesn't make it to the Kick, it won't fire. Pressing hard will sometimes compensate for the crap buildup.

i did the sandpaper cleaning method on the switch already after seeing davids post :(
