i started this crazy vaping thing on january 10. one of the fortunate ones, absolutely zero tobacco products since that day. a few mild cravings here n there in the beginning, but easily overcome. my only source of nicotine has been from vaping (except when i eat tomatoes ;) )

like most of us, i struggled with finding the right nic level, the right flavors, the right pg/vg mix, the right voltage, the right atomizers, the right way to draw, etc. etc.

i've been to almost every liquid vendor - many i liked, some i didn't - and have settled on a handful of my personal favorites. like many of us, this was not an inexpensive endeavor. thank goodness for the classifieds section ;)
i dabbled in diy, with the help of a local member, and have made a few decent liquids myself, though i'm far from a mix master.

i went from the stock batteries to 3.7v (nice), to 5v (wow), to 6v (ack, too much), and back to 5v, which is my comfort area. 3.7v with lr still excellent though. sometimes i wonder how i kicked the smoking habit with that little stock battery, but i did.

i haven't tried every atomizer, but my mainstay is the 510. there is certainly value for me in the 808 cartomizers, and i still have about 20 of them. recently i started gutting them (after reading a members post about it), and gutted they absolutely rock at 5v. i do enjoy the 510 cartos as well, but haven't gutted any (yet).

i've built more mods than i've purchased, and have toyed with many juice-feed systems (none of mine work too well though). i've given away quite a few 3.7 and 5v box mods to local members, friends, neighbors, even the mailman and the manager at the local bowling alley.

as for nic, i started with 18mg, but that was too low for me to start with. went straight to 36 - argh too much. 24mg was my sweet spot, ahhh. over the months, i've consciously been dropping the nic levels. 18, 15, 12 8, and most recently at 6. every so often i'd go zero, but within a day i would realize that i wasn't ready. 4 days ago, i mixed up a few zero nic liquids. 5ml of chocolate fudge brownie, and 5ml of spearmint with a little sweetener. i really have been enjoying these. just today i realized that i haven't inhaled any nicotine for 4 days.

i think i'm ready to declare myself a full-time zero nic user. i know i'm not quite ready to put the vaping aside, but that day will also come.

so to all you new folks, and those still struggling with the occasional cigarette who desire to be tobacco and/or nicotine free, perservere with confidence, rely on your forum brethren, and you too will get there.

oh yes, sign the petitions and lobby your representatives :toast:

I'm almost there too! Started at 18mg, now I'm at 11mg, no difference, actually flue-cured at 18mg taste bad and at 11mg taste good. I will go to 0mg next, waiting for my shipment of flavourings with no nicotine PG.

I don't think I'll have any problem going straight from 11mg to 0 but now you make me doubt since you had some trouble, wish me luck :D

my thought is that once you get down to 6mg, going to zero may be more mental than physical. sort of like when you took your last cigarette out of the pack and had a small panic about having to get more - didn't really need it right then, but felt uneasy about not having it.

i do hope my post will give some people a 'light at the end of the tunnel', as that is what it was intended to do ;)
