Pretty random post. I know.

I started vaping 24mg liquids in November of 2013.

I dropped to 18 quickly, felt sick from chain vaping (hey, vaping tastes awesome compared to "duty free" hand rolled dried up camel crap called Drum (not even the real deal...)

Started DIY, went from 18 quickly down to 12.

Made a nic free batch last night, vaped it today, and absolutely NO cravings, no crankiness, no throwing toys out the pram (a regular thing trying NRT). It's like my body forgot I was addicted to anything.

Not wanting to suggest anyone does this - of course - but I've found vaping seems to have eased me into a position where I get over the crap in the ciggies, and my body slowly rejected the nicotine, which is good, I think?

Anyway, rambling post - but I will vape on (0% if possible!) with the BICOE (break in case of emergency) bottle on hand for the ....tier days (which are many, and often!)

If you give it a go, you may surprise yourself too - I know I was :D

I'll always vape I think, regardless, but bloody hell not needing nicotine for a day, not killing someone (mentally) after a day, I'm literally chuffed to bits. :)

Yep, agree. I honestly never thought I'd "get over the addiction". I'm starting to wonder what it was I was actually addicted to. Nicotine is nice, it makes me feel relaxed, but do I need it? Not today.

Weird. I guess it's maybe a psychological thing too.

Tomorrow I'll probably monster my way through the nic liquid (shopping to do, kids party to attend, visit the in laws....) let's see how that goes ;)

meh, not shaming at all mate - seriously

I literally just posted this to let folks know that the step down didn't hurt me at all. I'm not suggesting for a second that everyone should.

It's on your terms.

Maybe should have made that clearer. I'm not suggesting everyone should drop down to zero nicotine. I just found I did and wanted to share how weird I found it.

I'll be on 36mg tomorrow, I can just tell. It's going to be a long, stressful day :)

I think I was dependent on nicotine when I first started vaping. I used to be dependent on coffee, too. I mean, I just seemed to like the way these 2 things made me feel. But I slept better when I did not have coffee so I stopped that and with vaping,

Once I got down to 6mg nic, I felt pretty good.

You've inspired me to make my next bottle 0 nic. :) Will report outcome.

I really hate the feeling of "cravings" anyway. I have always found it bothersome, esp. if I'm busy doing something where or when I can't fulfill them

I DIY also and have been slowly making more and more 0 nic bottles with no trouble with cravings. I think it was the other chemicals in cigs that made us so dependent on them.

This is how I feel about it too. Somewhere on this computer I have a link to a study done on nicotine use for something like crones or ADD. I'll have a look for it in a bit. One of the issues was nic addiction and the study found none. I've been vaping no-nic a lot more than juice with nic the last year and I've had no issues. I actually use it for a while when I feel like it and find it extremely easy to stop again when I feel like it.

I'm convinced nicotine is not what makes cigarettes so addictive.

This sounded aggressive when I read it back, not my intention at all, apologies if it came across as so.

It's a funny thing, to me. I'm hopelessly addicted to caffeine, nicotine, work, ECF...

:D

It's worth trying though, I'd rather choose to vape nic on my terms than just vape as I feel I need to. I think I'll vape nicotine tomorrow as it will be a crap day (hence why I'm still up at 04:13am not wanting to go to bed...I'm an idiot).

It's good to know people are encouraged by it though - you might not have the same results, but it seemed painless to me. If it works for you, great stuff.

There is also a study somewhere posted here or over at CASAA that nicotine also helps with cognitive ability besides calming you and helping with Crohn's Disease and ADHD. Since I'm fast approaching the "elderly" stage of my life, I think I'll stick with a bit of nicotine so I can be aware of what I can't do........then again......

Four months into vaping I found to my total surprise that I was no longer addicted to nicotine. No doubt what-so-ever in my mind that for me the additives in cigarettes were causing the addiction. It certainly wasn't the nicotine itself.

For over 3 years now I've treated nicotine the same way I treat caffeine. I do occasionally enjoy a cup or two of caffeinated coffee but most often drink decafe coffee. I most often vape with no nicotine in my e-juice but occasionally I choose to use some 2-6 mg nic in my e-juice.

Several months back I realized that I'd been vaping more nic juice then usual while using up some old juice I'd found in the house. While I didn't think my body had I did wonder if my body had grown fond of nicotine again so I purposely made sure I used no nicotine for the next month. My body showed no signs of missing the nicotine. We're all different and I don't expect everyone to have the same experience that I've had, but I do suspect I'm not alone in my experience.

I started at 24mg on 7/4/13, and am still at 24mg, no plans on stepping down anytime soon. I did get some 20mg one time that a delivery driver at work made and filled me up a tank to try, and I was fine with that, didn't vape any more than I do at my 24mg, but I'm comfortable at that level and see no real need or savings in stepping down, considering I am doing my research on starting up DIY liquid at the moment

Right now reading this thread I am having my first vape of the day (6mg) with a cup of strong black coffee. Something is giving me a nice buzz - tightening of the eyes, a slight roar in my head, an effervescence in my chest area, a relaxation of my muscles. This wouldn't happen with only the coffee or only the vape. I don't have an explanation.
