Killed my atomizer while using a USB passthrough...

I'm curious as to how many people have killed their atty while using their passthrough.

I know that LuckSevens4U had killed 3 in the first week of using hers.

Maybe there is something to the consistent or additional current they provide that shortens their lives.

I think it's just the fact that the passthrough provides such consistent power and you get carried away just puffing and puffing and puffing until *poof*, dead atomizer.

I did that with my first 901.

Gep, I'm thinking the same thing. So razor, be careful with your passthrough. I am definitely going to be a bit more cautious. It is so easy to get carried away with them.

I've been using my 901 passthrough with my Kensington powerpack/computer exclusively for months now with different atomizers and I've never had an issue. I had one burn out after a week with the normal battery, but never on USB.

Some atomizers just suck is all. The manufacturing tolerances are nowhere near consistent.

Throw the atty out and get another, I have about six onhand for just such an emergency. A couple users having issues is nothing to get worried about - a good atty will take most anything you throw at it for months.

I have attys on hand and some on the way. Its encouraging to know that you never killed one using your usb.

I'm not going to throw my deceased one away..just in case it rises from the dead. Stranger things have happened...

I was using a 901 atomizer/passthrough combo for 2 months. The passthrough actually failed first. I put the atomizer on my SD and 2 days later the atomizer died. None of my other atomizers that I use on regular batteries have died. So maybe it's possible the passthrough putting out more current can kill an atomizer faster but for me 2 months is an exceptable life span for an atomizer.

Maybe your passthrough is bad? I've never heard of anyone killing four atomizers in the span of a week, regardless of power supply used.

Moonman.. I've only suffered one fatality.

LuckSevens4U is the one that had a bad passthrough, killing three in a week.

I posted the poll because I was curious if there was a trend with the passthroughs and atty death. So far, it seems as though it was just coincidental that my atty died while using my passthough.
