I just got two killer clones. I am having issues with continual dry hits. I removed the bottom insulator to get better airflow and am using silica wick (2mm doubled over). I have good vapor and TH but the taste is pretty bad. I will admit I don't have a lot of wick under the ceramic. Could that be the issue?

I redid the coil and wick and still no progress. The wick is in the bottom of the cup and everything still tastes burnt. I can remove and reapply the top cap of the tank to flood the atty which will give good flavor for a couple vapes until the flooding goes away and then it's bad again.
