The Killer 705 rba, my favorite BF rba, orginally designed to be used in carto tanks but great BF atty without any modifications needs to have it's proprietary 510 adapter used for proper air draw as the holes in it's bottom threaded fitting are too large. I like to make things a little more stream lined looking.

First the Killer RBA on Polished REO Mini 1.0 without my little mod. Mod piece in picture.

Mod piece put on. It stream lines the look a bit. In person you don't notice the joins or lines where things come together very much.

I used a dead SS IKV super Mini 801 atty (not on market too long and was replaced by the Midi size that was a little taller but not by much)

Measured and then cut it with cheap hardware store mini pipe cutter.

But, by far, the favorite of the two I've done is this one. Killer 705 on Black Wrinkle VVG. Note the black tubing sitting in catchcup. All kinds of things can be used. I have a bunch of different colored EmpireMods Drip Shields I can use but I think I'll first locate some stiff "plastic" tubing that matches the colors of my colored anodized REOs and a brass pipe for the Wood REOs to be used with torched SS Killer.

I know there aren't many Killer 705 BF users out there yet and most are being used in tanks but wanted to show and tell. I do expect them to become more popular among BF users as more and more of us proclaim their superiority. A major thing going for them is they will fit any well or catchcup and can be used in tanks and they are tiny and not very tall. The atty adapter, on very bottom is same outside diameter at a standard 510 atty or carto.

Looks real sharp! Why is your favorite atty? Do the modifications have to be done on all REOs to make the atty work?

Thanks,

Norman

I'm supposed to be working and in nesr panic mode becsuse so much to do so won't go into why it's my favorite rught now.

It needs no modification at all. It is really short and smallest diameter of any RBA I'm aware of. You can hardly see the bottom section. What looks like bottom is a proprietary adapter that is needed to use it in carto tanks. The adapter is same diameter as 510 carto. Adapter needed as air holes on threads, like a normal 510 atty are huge and allow way too much air in. I tried an unsealed shorty 510 extender but the center pin gets pushed down too far. I, also, played, just a bit, closing the air holes off some but, did so little, so will play more. Adapter is only needed to cut down air flow when used as BF or dripper or for adjustable juice flow when used in carto tank.

Without the adapter it's about 4-5 mm taller than a Hornet but much skinnier. Several of us have determined we can chop off 4-5 mm of the top chimney to make it even more petite.

I did the appearance mod to streamline the look.

Alice, check out Manimals review of the Dripper Spiral on Reos, sounds like you need to check them out too!... :)

Definitely will. Thanks. It is very similar to Killer and same build; probably everything I like about Killer with 2 exceptions being it doesn't fit all catchcups (negative) and it doesn't need the proprietary adapter for proper air flow (positive) making it shorter. Looks like I need to add one to my squadron for Grands and VVs.

Mini REOs will always be important to me and it's hard to justify buying a Mini 2.1 as I have so many ver 1 and 2. In addition the Killer will fit all my Woodvil catchcups. Looks like Spiral won't.

It works very well. I have the Killer 705, the Ebaron spiral and the McARB, better which works is the Ebaron with the Reo.

No argument about Ebaron other (I don't have one but so similar, in build, to Killer) than I do think it needs to be stressed that it will fit only a few REOs. There are hundreds of Woodvils and thousands of Mini 1 and 2 out. Don't want people to be disapointed that Ebaron doesn't fit their REO unless it is a VVG, Grand, or Mini 2.1. I have no interest in having (too many to comfortably report number) all of my various model Woodvil catch cups replaced.

Robert has just released the new Mini 2.1 that has well big enough to receive just about any diameter RBA but I don't know if he can do a huge well like that on Mini 1 as they are so tiny. And I think there will always be a market for tiny REO.

Just saying.

My opinions are subjective and refer to the functioning in the Reo Grand only.
