You might be onto something there with the o-rings Alice. I think a smaller o-ring, in thickness, not diameter might be the trick for you. Love o-rings and what they can do for fine tuning RBAs.

Yeah, agree. I'll try to locate some. May be worth a trip to next town over as they have an Ace Hardware store. Will try HD first. Oh yeah another thing my Sissy angel unearthed was my mini digital calipers.

Sissy went to dinner with a friend last night so I played with vape gear. She's leaving Friday morn so today she'll be keeping me extra busy.

I dropped of a couple pairs hair cutting scissors at local blade sharpening shop yesterday. Picking them up Wed. He has a special machine to do the almost antique very hard German steel pair that was probably my Mother's first personal big investment when she finished her training in late 30's. (Actually they were probably gifted to her by one of the people who took her under their wings and got her out of the orphanage when she was 16. That was 1935.) Anyway shop keeper, blade Master was really admiring the scissors.

So When I go back tomorrow I'm gonna see if he can do a hole in Killer chimney and then close off the ginormous holes on threaded post, using removable silicone caulk, to eliminate using the proprietary adapter. Will report results. Will carry coiled one in with post holes already blocked so I can try it after the drilling for air flow and if hole needs to be bigger or maybe 2 holes. Sure hope he has drill press. Surely he does. He also repairs and cleans watches even antiques.

DH was a little p*ssed at me because one pair was curved dog grooming scissors he stole from my grooming box and uses daily to tidy up his beard when he's in town. He can't use his travel scissors as he leaves them down there in lock box with his gun, neither of which he can take in his only luggage carry on.

[Edit] I'm gonna see if he can fix our Coo Coo Clock.

Be careful with those guys. A lot of the sharpening shops use grinders, which can reduce life or plain ruin your knives/scissors. Not saying that this guy does it, but it's usually a good idea to ask. They're ok for the run of mill Wallmart kitchen knives, but I'd be gentle with the 1930's scissors.

Thanks for warning. He said he charges more ($5 more) for scissors like that because "gotta pay for the expensive machine I have to use." He had some fine looking knives there. Tiny little shop; small town. Doubt if he'd be in business long if he did shoddy work. The little shop has been there at least 20 years but first time I've been in.

Jack, you'll appreciate.... I went in about 1730. Shop closes 1800. He said he couldn't do them till next day because he had a date. He's 73.

Hugs, Feisty Alice

Got the email my Killer order has "been dispatched" :)

Wonder how long it will take to make it to NY, USA

I hope its not something I have to sign for because our regular PO dood has been AWOL for over a week and the new girl is the sub that drove off twice in a week with my packages because she couldn't be bothered to get out and walk 60 feet.

I've become a Tri-Killer Spider now and using a Tsaf for welding the wires, and decided I've never had it so good!

Old don't mean dead... it just means experienced.

Needed to bump this up so I can read the whole thread without having to search for it. Now I gotta learn about my new Killers... or I could just wait until I get to Ardmore and have Alice teach me.

Jack

Never mind. I thought you were posting in the other Killer 705 thread. The BIG one.

Already read that thread, twice, but most of the info is about using the Killer in a tank. My Phiniacs haven't seen the light of day in many a moon.

I did learn about crimping beads in that thread though... think that's the route I'm going to go. (Of course I do like the little welding machine though... watched the YouTube video.)
