I have seen mods kill very active threads. I just think this is bad policy! Please make it stop!

They don't kill threads unless there is a very good reason, mainly something is, or turns, against ECF rules. If there is a productive thread not against the rules with a topic you like, then post away. If not, then create one, in the appropriate sub-forum. Review the rules if you are unsure, or ask for help if you cannot determine for sure. :)

Do you have a link to the 'help me find a great juice' thread?

I don't know about that one specifically but if you read through some of the e-liquid threads, there was a lot of deletions in some of them because they were bumped by banned members posting here under alts and trolling the board. That's not helpful if someone is seaching the threads for a specific liquid or flavor. Or after telling people repeatedly not to use a thread for off-topic chit chat (they could do that, but not in that thread) they continued to do so. That's unfortunate for the people enjoying/posting in the thread but blame that on the trolls. You can always re-open a similar thread and we'll try to keep it on track. Just use the triangle and report a post that seems to be derailing a thread.

As far as negative comments regarding suppliers, we have a specific place for making such posts. Suppliers aren't allowed to post in that section and they'd probably want to address whatever criticism a person might have. We try to be fair to everyone and give them that opportunity.

When there is a 'review' where the reviewer does not list 4 of the 6 flavors they tried, and do not provide any useful description of the juice they do not like, it is a hatchet job. I am a fan of HHV, and a regular customer. I am a regular poster on HHV's Army sub-forum. That said, I would have 'liked' a bad review of the juice that provided some information other than "did not have flavor after two puffs". There are several HHV juices I despise, Sludge being one. Just because I like some of the juices a vendor sells does not make it beyond criticism. I do not personally like many juice distributors. But I would defend them if someone put a hatchet fake review on them.

Bottom line, the OP did not follow the rules. Other posters (many of them with new accounts started at the same time, coincidentally) joined in with similar negative reviews lacking in details. It got the thread shut down.

Part of what makes ECF cool is the fact that the Mods keep it clean and civil. I have been warned about my posts when I get out of line. I try to accept it with grace and move on. Sometimes the Mods are imperfect, but the overwhelming majority of the time they are right. I personally am grateful for their vigilance.

That's not the reason I've seen them kill them. The bs excuses I've seen is "asked and answered" and "this is not a review." Yet people were still talking about the issue. If it wasn't a review it should have been moved. It's garbage to close an active thread like these!
Yes when the thread reaches the point where a mod closes it as asked and answered the post has long since wandered from productive. This is not a review. what part do you not understand? if it is in a review section and is not a review it doesn't belong there.
I'd more more than willing to point you in the direction of examples that should not been closed. Isn't the purpose of this forum to provide info to it's members? These threads were killed during this process!
read the rules and post appropriately and your threads won't be closed.
