Hi everyone - after lurking off and on, I finally decided to register because the amount of information and help on here seems amazing. I'm still working my way through the new member stickies, but I thought I'd say hello. I have been a smoker for almost 20 years, a little over a pack and a half a day (Parliments). I first ventured into the e-cig world about 8 months ago by trying a blu disposable, which I found to be awful. Then, my cousin's husband showed me his Nuvo e-cig, so I got that. Needless to say, it has not really done it for me. Part of that was my mistake, going for the lightest nic version they had, but the bottom line is that the overall experience of it hasn't made me put down the cigs yet. It's great in a pinch (Like the new car I promised hubby I wouldn't smoke in) but not enough of a throat hit, not enough vapor, etc. I do like the ease of it, though, to be honest. Once I started really looking into what's out there, I became increasingly overwhelmed. I hope to learn enough to find something that works for me, isn't extremely complicated and lets me toss the cigs in favor of solely vaping. I don't have all the terms down yet but I'm working on it... Excited to do this, but do not want to just jump in again without being as informed as possible. :)

Thanks!
Jen

Welcome jenmurray. I agree with gavind, don't let the bigger e-cigs get to you. Something like a eGo battery with 650 mah minimum and some good clearomizers, ViviNova or cartomizers will perform significantly better than what you have right now. Juice selection enters the picture too. Go with a eGo Twist or Spinner and you enter the variable voltage world which is very nice. Juice selection helps too :)

Best of luck with it all and always know you can ask anything here and someone will help out.

Welcome to ECF jenmurray116! There are a lot of options, keep reading the forums and asking questions. Bigger is better....bigger batteries last longer, variable voltage batteries let you tweak the voltage until you get the perfect vape, bigger clearomizers and tanks hold more e-liquid. If you have a vape shop in your area, go by and look at some options and try out the various e-liquids. A local shop won't have as many options as you'll find on ECF, but it will give you some ideas. To see if there's a shop in your area, go to this link and click on your state.... usa.html

I am using an Innokin iTaste with Stardust rebuildable Clearomizers and am pretty happy with it. The eGo and kGo seem to be good options also. I decided to try the iTaste before I dove all the way into something like a Provari. Plus it was available at my local vape shop and I wanted the instant gratification of being able to use it immediately and not have to wait on the post office :p

Keep searching and you'll find the perfect set up for you. Good luck!

Hi guys, and thanks - I'm not too worried about the bigger, as I figure I'll get used to it - it's more figuring the rest of it out. The worst part about using the Nuvo was that I got used to the prefilled cartomizers. So all of this....

clearomizers, ViviNova or cartomizers will perform significantly better than what you have right now. Juice selection enters the picture too.

....is what I need to sort out as I'm still confused. I gather in the long run it is a much better experience and cheaper to fill yourself, but I need to read through everything to understand what the differences are and which is the best fit. I have been looking at the eGo twist, as I've read so much about it on here - and I do think a bigger battery makes sense in the long run. I'm not overly concerned with cost right now as I figure I'd rather pay for something that is going to be a great experience then to keep paying for so-so stuff. But, there is still a LOT to learn - e-cigs have come a long way in a short time, it seems!

Thank you for that link!! There are none at all close to me in NJ, but I just realized that I should probably check NYC as I'm much closer to there. That might be a good start for me.

Hi Jen, A vision spinner or an Ego twist would probably be good. There are different delivery systems and it can be confusing - having some reliable cartomizers is a good start. They are actually easy peasy to fill. I'll put a short video below for you to see. A friend of mine completely new to ecigs watched this and has been happily filling her cartos ever since:

Cartomizers hold about 1ml - usualy 20 drops of liquid when filling. My suggestion is start with some cartomizers. They're easy to fill and use, and good to have on hand when you experiment with more fiddly juice delivery systems.

Good luck with it all.

Thank you so much for that video - I do realize now that it is super easy to do!

Ok, I think that I'm going to go with the Vision Spinner - I think that would be the best next step for me now.....knowing I need something more, but still tentative and confused. Mad vapes has a spinner kit here and it comes with a clearomizer - so, not a cartomizer. Is filling that the same? And my main question is - what else do I need? I would think I would want more than one battery - and probably other tanks, right? But, what else (aside from juice) would you suggest? Any help or suggestions would be very appreciated - and I am thankful for the welcome and the help already given!! :)

Hi Jen,
Vision Spinners are good varibale voltage pvs. You're right - you will need more than one battery. I'd suggest picking up a couple of Spinners, and charger. You don't have to get the clearomizer - it does fill differently to a cartomizer.
If you're buying from Mad Vapes I'd suggest getting some of these:
Smok Tech 510 2.5 Ohm Cartomizers, Single Coil

And maybe one or two of these if you are interested in trying vivi novas:
Vision 2.0ml Slim Nova Tank Clearomizer, Clear
They have different colors.

Sorry, I couldn't get on during the holidays at all - but once again, thank you for the help! I don't really know what the difference between the two are, so to be safe, right now I would stick with the first one you listed - unfortunately, it seems they are out of stock right now. Hopefully that won't be for long. Does this ever get less intimidating?? :D

Good luck to a fellow parliament smoker! I found that once I found my perfect juice(bobas bounty), I have looked back in 2 months :)

In about two months from now, I hope to be saying the same thing!! That seems to be a popular juice - I'll have to check that out. I definitely think that one of my big mistakes when I first tried this was thinking I should go nic free from the start - I will not be doing that this time around.
