Hello all - just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself, as I've been lurking around this forum for a month, but just registered yesterday and started posting today. About a month ago I got a pv to celebrate my 40th birthday. I've been smoking cigs for 24 years, so it was well beyond time to try something a little different. I'm not quite sure *what* I bought, looks sorta like a hybrid between an eGo and a Riva. Kinda cool.
So, in the past month I've destroyed three atomizers, had the taste of burning hair in my mouth for almost an entire day, cheerfully flooded cartridges and cartomizers, compulsively ordered a zillion different flavors from a zillion different websites (if the US economy shows an uptick next month, it's cuz of all the shopping and ordering that I'm doing), discovered the viscious and brutal headaches that can occur when one is not paying attention to the mg/ml, learned the heartache of losing fave nicquid from not caring for it properly, watched a bunch of very helpful videos at YouTube, freaked out at the concept of dripping then nearly screwed up the courage to try it, and (my favorite) discovered that I have an intense desire to vape in empty elevators. Just because I can. It's subversive. It's fun.
Even though I've been frustrated while learning about ecigs and my own pv, I didn't give up. I kept on trying, and now I'm delighted to report that with time, experience, trial and error, posts on this site, blogs, and YouTube videos, I'm finally getting the hang of it. Sort of. I think.
In other words, I'm doing everything that a newbie should be doing!
I haven't completely quit analogs yet, but using my pv has cut analog use by half to two-thirds, depending on how frustrated I am with my pv. I have found a cartomizer that I can't wreck, no matter how hard I try, so this is a good thing. And cutting down from 18 cigarettes a day to 5 - 6 a day is great progress for me, for now. I hope to get to 0, but I'm not rushing toward that goal. It's okay to ease on over to it.
I've read a lot of posts from folks that were able to switch to vaping from cigs right away, and that is really fantastic! Wish I was one of you, but less is right for me right now, and I'll keep working toward that goal.
Thanks to all the folks who have posted their thoughts, opinions, and musings. Immensely helpful -- appreciate it very much!
