I was looking at a few 510 batteries I've ordered from different suppliers and noticed some differences.

The first 510 I ordered was a genuine Joye510 and inside the battery connection there's a sealed indent on the manual battery where the hole for an automatic battery would be, plus what I assume to be a serial number etched into the brass.

The batteries I ordered frm another supplier have a completely flush seal on the connection and no number labeled. They also seem to have a much more raised button than the lower profiled buttons I received with my first kit.

Can anyone confirm that the spare batteries I bought are indeed Joye knock offs? I know there are true 901's and then the replcas that look identcal. Wondered if the same was true for the 510.

Well actually the genuine Joye 510 battery doesnt have any S/N printed on them ... nor the atomizers

Do they perform differently? I have both, but it makes no difference to me. Also, only seems to be the non-black ones that are the flush connection. I say, "Who cares?"

I only ask because I've read that people have had problems with the clone batteries, considerably shorter life spans. I'm noticing I'm getting shorter life spans out of a few of my batteries, and they are the ones that I bought as spares, or with boxless sets.

Plus I've noticed on a few sites that they charge more for the supposed true Joye510 parts.

I have noticed this as well, the ones with the indent have MP stamped on them(on the outside black part) and the led seems to be a little dimmer than the other kind.

The MP just means they were purchased in a multi-pack.

They're labeled because batteries purchased in multi-packs are not covered my the sites warranty.

I have read that the standard 510 auto battery is 180 mAh, the manual is 150 mAh on the Joye batteries. Other companies are now making a 510 battery and I know one of them, the mAh is 140 on the manual, so yes, this battery would not last quite as long as the Joye. I look at it as being the same hoopla we went thru when suppliers were selling DSE901 batteries or atomizers, when they were really RN and the suppliers were saying they were selling 901. Since the popularity of the 510 has taken off the way it has, it only makes sense that the other manufacturers would try to jump on the band wagon with their own version of the 510. I don't really consider these knock-offs, just made by another company. Wish the suppliers though would note who the manufacturer is of the product they are selling. Another item of note, wholesale pricing is as much as a dollar less per piece from some of the nonJoye manufacturers. So for suppliers, it is a much better deal to get the nonJoye items, much cheaper.

My second batch of 510 manual batteries were sealed (got them from Cignot) and boy are they superior to the ones I got with the holes in them. The difference in performance was obvious right away; the attys I got at the same time also showed a definite improvement than the previous ones. The sealed are obviously much better for dripping. Have no idea, though, whether they are all from JoyE or something else. Doesn't matter to me as long as they put that vapor out.

The kit and extras I ordered from TECC so far seem to be excellent. I got the dual kit, and a 5 pack of batteries. Wierd thing is in the original box one batt was indented and the other wasn't. None of the 5 pack were either. So far i've only tested the ones that came with the kit and they both seem to be about the same. Haven't had any issues yet! *Crosses Fingers*
