I just recently (last 3 months) started vaping and within the last month(April 19) went to straight vaping. In the beginning i was playing around with some of my husbands juices and was finding that almost all of them made my throat burn (some would be so bad it felt like my throat was constricting with the first drag) and with extended use made my lungs scratchy and burn. Then I found Grape White by Lost Art Liquids and Frost Bite by Naked 100, and I didn't have a reaction to either one. It was like smoking pure joy lol. But now comes my problem, I would like to try different juices but I am having a very hard time trying to figure out what is causing the reaction i am having. I have done some looking and haven't found anything in the forums about anyone experiencing the same reaction. I have also tried different pg/vg mixes in the same flavors and get the same reaction, tried lowering the nic level and it helped slightly but still had a lot of burning, and when i say burning i mean it feels like I swallowed sandpaper coated in ghost pepper juice and it burns for a good 5 to 10 minuets or until I vape one of my go to juices.

The Juices i know i can't smoke are:
Menthol Max (House juice by Vapor World)
Aftermath by Flawless
any juice by Teardrip Juice co.
Reds by Dazle Manufacturing
and so far any of the house juices at BudgetVapors.com

So in summing it up has anyone heard of anything like this or am I just an odd peach?

I'm thinking and trying to eliminate possibilities here.

Grape white doesn't have any menthol in it does it?

Have you tried 100% vg (not max but actual 100% vg anywhere)

you are correct grape white is a non-menthol, and not yet the vape shops around where i live said that with the builds i run(sub-ohm most of the time) that pure 100% vg is to thick.

I was going to start diying my own juice as soon as i can get the funds up to get started and i was going to see how thick the 100% vg truly was.

In your opinion is pure 100% vg to thick for the VCMT, Big Baby Beast with rba, TFV8 and 12 with rbas, and BFDFT RTA?

Oh heck no.. they were designed for the max vg juices..you shouldn't have any problems. Just takes a bit more time to prime the coil.. once primed, you shouldn't have a problem with wicking. If you need when your chain vaping, just periodically close off your airflow and take a couple priming puffs and then open your airflow again and fire away.

Im trying to pinpoint your allergy. Both those juices are 70/30 mixes, and with only one being menthol only that one would have a slight numbing effect on your throat.

Therefore, it's something in the components, and/or the brand's of the components used between different e juice manufacturers.

To really know, it's going to be trial and error as to what your sensitive to specifically, whether it's a specific brand of flavoring you need to stay away from or a specific additive like a sweetener.

For right now, stay with the juice companies that are making those two juices you don't have a sensitivity to.

Later and as your ready, you will probably want to get into some DIY in order to narrow your sensitivity down more specifically.

Brother Bob thank you for the welcome after looking around this sight it looks like a very good resource for any beginner or avid vapor to have in their arsenal :) Thank you for the suggested links but im not sure its "harshness" that i'm getting and I had found the second link while searching for answers before. Every time I come accross a juice that I react to I try to test it on multiple devices at different wattage and I normally have my husband take a draw off of it after I do lol. 90% of the time he says he dosen't get any harshness from it. I do currently have 6 of the offending juices in a crock pot on low right now trying to see if steeping them will help. My husband said they were harsh for him so im not sure if the quality of the ingredients or the steep time is to blame for them. I guess i will find out in about 4 hours lol.

I also wanted to say thank you to everyone who has responded on this thread, I have been going in circles for months now trying to figure this out, and one point of thinking I was crazy. I do have some allergy testing set up with my dr to try and figure out if i might just be allergic to some flavorings since most that i have seen are made from actual extracts, mabie it might shed some light.

Once again thank you everyone :D
