Hey guys. So I just won a Koopor Mini from a big 30k subscriber giveaway (shoutout to VapnFagn). It's my first temp control mod and so my first temp control experience as well. I ordered some 26 gauge Titanium 1 from lightning vapes and wrapped my first temp control spaced dual coil in my Twisted Messes rda. It was an 8 wrap with a 3mm ID and it came out to like 0.19 ohms on the Koopor Mini.

So I started at 350 degrees F and got nothing. Moved up to 400 F and still barely smoking. Even at 500 F it was just giving off little baby vapors. I found that I had to set it to at least 570 and the Koopor Mini's "HARD" setting just to get anything close to a decent vape. I've got the mod set to titanium coils, I measured the resistance when it was room temperature, and I have my TM rda's airflow open like 1/3 of the way.

After all the research I've read on titanium wire and temp control, I'm really worried I'm either doing something wrong or the mod is doing something wrong. From what I've read, titanium supposedly burns hotter than Nickel and so most people vape it at 100 degrees below Nickel temps? I don't see why I have to set this thing to its near maximum temp setting of 600 F just to get a decent vape.

so first of all, Ti doesnt run hotter, its just that the TCR is much lower than Ni (just more than half), so for mods that only have a Ni setting, temp has to be around 100F lower for Ti use!

More importantly, your resistance is way off! 8 wraps of 26g around 3mm should be more like 0.35 ohms. So, check your 510 pin adjustment and the post screws are tight etc etc and make sure the resistance reads correctly on the mod. Reading too low will necesitate a much higher temp setting so your observation is consistent with the problem!!

btw is it a spaced or touching coil??

Ah. Thank you for the information. So my resistance is way off even for a dual coil?

dual?!?!? whoops, sorry missed that. Ok, so R is pretty much ok...hmmm...maybe try a single coil first, just for trouble-shooting purposes?!?!

Some of these new 'budget' mods are a little undercooked with Ti, but I have a Koopor running Ti and really havent had any issues. This is a bit weird...

So what build and temp do you run yours with?

The other thing you could try is sett it for Ni instead of Ti and set temp down to, say 350F and ramp up as needed to get the vape you want...
Yeah my build is spaced to answer your earlier question. And you know what's funny is the first time I used it I had it set on nickel coils because I wrongly assumed that it was a mod that detected the wire type automatically. So I did use titanium on nickel setting at first and it wasn't bad but I got dry hits :/...
